LaCanfora Hearing that Scott will be Gone

Correct, which is why (despite the personality issues) Gettleman is still the best GM we've had. Highlighting Marty making good draft picks while still building losing teams is like pointing to great plays made in a lost game. Yeah, cool play...but we still lost. And again, Marty gave us Rhule. -

And your choice to make things personal rather than factual, as usual, is noted -

Couple factual points here... Gamble was a trade up pick after the Super Bowl season. No issues with him. Beason was taken after a trade down. The Jets traded up to our spot (#14). We got Beason. They got Darrelle Revis. Which of those two would you call "generational"? With Williams, we got lucky. Our draft board that year had Laurence Maroney as the top runningback, but the Patriots took him before we had the chance (basically saved us feom ourselves). It wasn't too long after that that Marty started trading away future first rounders and using our next top picks on guys like Everette Brown and Armanti Edwards. Shocking he's not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as an executive, I know -

I wouldn't call Round 2 a "late round". And giving the generational tag to anybody except Newton and Kucehly would be...generous. Hell, outside of Newton, every single draft pick in 2011 was pretty much a bust. -
Tepper got robbed $37 million by Bryce’s parents

I mean the weigh in thing was pretty obvious. If you ignored that, it was probably because you chose to or just didn't feel like it mattered. -
I came out of ten years of football with my fair share of injuries. Then I decided to try martial arts because there were body parts I hadn't hurt yet

Worth noting that Young technically had two quarterback coaches; Josh McCown and Passing Game Coordinator Parks Frazier. Wasn't really a fan of that, but I'm not sure it was meant to be that way from the beginning.

I know I squatted 350 plus regularly back in high school. These days if I squat, I have trouble standing back up

Technically that definition would put Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Joe Montana and others in the "game manager" category, but as Warner points out that really shouldn't be considered a slight. I think a lot of West Coast guys get that label. I know two of the guys Newton named are in Shanahan style systems.

Ownership. Richardson believed in Hurney. Hell, he even fired a guy with a much better record so he could bring him back. Tepper waited too long to fire Hurney then forced his next hire to work under Rhule. -

Hurney was here a lot longer and did over a decade worth of damage. I'd add that hitting on first rounders is a lot easier when the sh-tty roster you built last year keeps getting you high draft picks. He also had no accountability. It was well known that he was GM for life as long as Richardson was in charge. If not for the jeans day scandal he'd likely have been here right up till Richardson passed. One of the biggest things you have to remember though is he was a big part of why we ended up with Matt Rhule. The immense damage Rhule did is partially Hurney's fault, and that tips the scales for me. -
Rebuilding the Carolina Panthers - how long will it take?

Roster wise, a lot of folks think only the offense needs work. -
There's definitely evidence. Reich didn't want to coach him on footwork until this coming offseason. And there were some who reportedly thought Reich was babying him (sounded kinda like a Pete Carroll - Russell Wilson type situation). I've said elsewhere I think Reich would have preferred not to have started him until next year. We've heard he wanted Derek Carr for this year.

Nah, it's still funny. That said, Hurney didn't sabotage his own head coach,.so there's that.
