  1. There are a fair number of teams charging for training camp attendance right now, and not all of them good teams. So while it might not go over well, I wouldn't be shocked to see him try it anyway (wouldn't exactly be the first time). As far as South Carolina, the training camp decision was likely made for the same reason as pretty much all of Tepper's other decisions, money. That said though, I haven't seen much of the "two states, one team" thing out of the team. And it's not like Tepper's previous encounters with the South Carolina fanbase have tended tocome to...positive endings.
  2. Conceivably creates another "bird" though depending on what you do with left tackle.
  3. It's certainly possible that Tepper doesn't give a sh-t about the South Carolina side of the fanbase anymore. Might be wise for him to remember though that it's not like the team is exactly growing its fanbase in their current status. Are the Panthers really in a position to take any fans for granted?
  4. I would, for a specific reason... That's a lot of roster work in an offseason where we already have a lot of roster work to do.
  5. Will Campen still be here though? I don't know how well Bakhtiari can stay healthy anymore ,but generally speaking I'd agree if we get a new left tackle next season, it'll probably be an older veteran stopgap (like we did a few years back).
  6. It's been said that he doesn't yet recognize "NFL open" vs college open (or Alabama open). That's a known issue. Seriously doubt he'd be flat out replaced next season though. I expect he gets at least one more year.
  7. Interior line is an easy fix if you move Ickey inside, get Corbett or Christensen healthy again on the right and adjust the scheme issues. The downside of course, as mentioned, is that leaves us needing a left tackle.
  8. And he coached the line we had last year. He's a legitimately good OL coach. Unfortunately, there might be a deeper problem. The story is out there now that assistant coaches were going to the owner talking about the head coach behind his back. There's suspicion that Campen was one of the people to do that. Did he? No idea. But someone did, and if a new head coach knows that, it might be a tough ask for him to trust anybody from the current staff.
  9. I's agree he holds onto the ball too long, though to be fair there are plenty of times when nobody is open. That's another thing that needs fixed, probably even more so than the line.
  10. FYI: These are two of the guys that I won't be surprised to see stay around at least through the draft, maybe longer, if a new GM is hired. Mind you, they could also be let go or want to depart.
  11. The moving it isn't likely to be as big a deal as it will be when he starts charging for attendance. And yes, that's coming.
  12. Just not long snappers... Back when Rhule didn't believe he could play left tackle because he had short arms Christensen certainly made a good guard. In our current scheme, he might have been better suited to play left tackle than Ickey. Is he a long-term solution at that position though? Eeehhh, don't know about that. If they move Ickey inside, Christensen might wind up as our utility guy Geoff Hangartner's old role).or potentially at right guard if Corbett can't return to form.
  13. Not if we do what their skill set dictates, at least. The promise coming in was that we would tailor the schemes to fit the players we have. It's ideally what coaches are supposed to do. That didn't happen. Mind you, the scheme probably fits Bryce okay. Our linemen? Not so much.
  14. From the Joe Person / Dianna Russini "Hunger Games" article... There also have been issues with scheme fits. Brown’s background is with the Rams’ mid-zone and wide-zone runs, which weren’t a great match for some of the Panthers’ offensive linemen. Right guard Austin Corbett ran the scheme during three seasons in L.A., including the Rams’ Super Bowl season of 2021. But Corbett missed the first six games this year while recovering from ACL surgery, then injured his MCL in the same knee against Dallas in Week 11 and was lost for the season. Center Bradley Bozeman conceded his more bruising skill set wasn’t ideal for the wide zone, best suited for quicker linemen who can occupy defensive linemen early in the play and then get to the second level. “Running downhill is what I love to do,” Bozeman said. “That’s what I’ve made my money on. Unfortunately, we didn’t have many opportunities to do that.”
  15. He did all last year, and did pretty well when we had the run heavy scheme under Steve Wilks.
  16. The OL personnel aren't the problem. They were arguably the best line we'd had last year. The offense was changed to a zone blocking scheme that didn't fit their skill set, especially from center left. Corbett and Moton could do it. If he were healthy, Christensen could probably do it. Everybody else? Not so much. The only thing I'd recommend with the O-Line is to move Ekwonu inside to left guard. He's much better suited there for going to keep a pass heavy scheme like this. Also more ideal to have a really strong interior line if you have a shorter quarterback. Yes, that'd leave us needing a left tackle (again) unless the team believes Christensen can handle that job.
  17. One point I would add... While I don't believe you can proceed without firing Scott Fitterer at this point because of the mistrust the story will create, I don't put it past David Tepper to try.
  18. Don't drink, but I do pizza (granted, anymore most of what I take in is diabetes and fibromyalgia meds)
  19. But hey, this didn't happen to us...
  20. FYI: Bad news for Harbaugh fans if true... (Fowler is a pretty reliable source)
