  1. I like Morgan, but I also remember his advocacy for the Panthers signing Michael Vick
  2. Depends on the role. If it's unrelated to personnel, I don't really have a problem with that organizationally. Now that said, the fact that he was involved in undermining the previous coach is a big deal. With that in mind, it's better that he be gone entirely. If that's not going to happen though, then a non-personnel related role is the best option. (that's what a lot of us used to hope Jerry Richardson would do with Marty Hurney since he was so determined to keep him)
  3. Maybe, as long as he doesn't pick the wrong people again. He has access to one of the best football minds in the league. Why not just use him instead of going to a search firm?
  4. They weren't. In fact, Tepper made a big deal of saying he didn't need anybody to help him with his hires.
  5. It lands to the idea that Fitterer will be moved to a non-personnel role within the team structure. Russini does still allow for the possibility though that he will just be fired.
  6. Quoting Dianna Russini... That, combined with the part about how Tepper has a strong personal affinity for Fitterer makes me think he still could stick around in a non-personnel role. Russini says though that it is also possible he could be let go, so I guess we'll see
  7. From the article: To help him guide his franchise for the future, Tepper has been working with the consulting firm Sportsology, led by former Chelsea FC executive Mike Forde.
  8. That's how Russini said Tepper saw it. Doesn't matter if it is or isn't.
  9. Champ Kelly is speculated as likely to end up keeping the Raiders job full time.
  10. This was the logic Dianna Russini and others said might lead Tepper to keep Fitterer as GM. His issues were only with the offensive side. That was before the "Hunger Games" stuff came out.
  11. He's trying to stick around long enough to get the all time wins record over Don Shula. A rebuilding team is not the place to do that.
  12. All of my feelings about Tepper are related to football decisions. And because of that, none of them are good feelings.
  13. FYI: Rumor from Jeremy Fowler today that Tepper may wait until the head coaching hire process is done before doing anything with the GM. Apparently also some talk of Dan Quinn as a head coaching possibility.
  14. I still think the best choice right now is to separate him from the team completely. Otherwise you risk a toxic environment, or at the very least the appearance of one. But If that's not going to happen, then at the very least you have to move him to a different role that doesn't involve roster decisions.
  15. Pretty sure Belichick ends up with the Commanders. Either way, Bill the coach is done. Bill the GM sucks. Bill the whatever else probably doesn't exist anymore, so...
  16. It'd be a red flag for me too If he were to transition into this other role, unsure whether he'd take part in a coaching or GM search.
  17. Being over other departments from field management to ticket sales to travel and logistics to stadium maintenance to whatever. Most team GMs handle everything even remotely football related.
  18. There is now. It's pretty generic.
  19. If Tepper chooses to go that route, it won't matter who gets hired. If he wants to get a good candidate at GM or head coach, he's gonna need to promise non-interference.
  20. I'll repeat what I posted in the other thread (actually appropriate to this discussion)... Former Huddler Casillas (who has a couple of inside sources with the team) has a theory on one possibility. He thinks Fitterer could be "promoted" (so to speak) to a job where he continues all of the general administrative duties of the GM job, but would have no role in personnel decisions. Don't know how realistic it is, but I'd say it's possible.
  21. Halaby is mentioned in the article. So is Catherine Raiche, along with another female candidate in NFL exec Dawn Aponte. Other names the article mentions: - Bucs Assistant GM John Spytek - Seahawks Assistant GM Nolan Teasley - Chiefs VP of Football Operations Brandt Tilis - Giants Assistant GM Brandon Brown Listed but not profiled... Chad Brinker (Titans) Eliot Wolf (Patriots) Trey Brown (Bengals) Harley (Saints) Malik Boyd (Bills) They also added this: The wild card is Cowboys VP of player personnel Will McClay. He would be one of the hotter targets if he sought his own shop. Some rumblings of that occurring exist, but the Joneses are fond of the 21-year front-office veteran, and would they allow Washington to poach its personnel ace? McClay would be my top choice, but his availability is a big question.
  22. I wanted to see he and Reich have a chance to build together. That went out the window when Reich was fired. But then the Hunger Games article showed it wouldn't have worked anyway, so... c'est la vie. Now, do you plan to keep pushing a personal discussion and agenda or would you like to try and discuss the actual topic?
  23. No argument. Brown could go back to RB Coach, though I think It'd be funny as hell if Johnson brought Staley back.
