  1. The 2022 version of our offensive line was indeed one of the best we've had. That they got misused and broken down the following season isn't really their fault. And if it helps, in the future I'll try to explain this using smaller words.
  2. Evero wanti to move on wouldn't exactly surprise me.. Fair or not, it's kind of hard to imagine him having a very positive view of the Panthers organization after the experience of this past season
  3. Ditto the kind of response I typically expect on your part
  4. To be fair, you don't have a choice to block head coach interviews anymore.
  5. Tomlin isn't getting fired, no there's a lot of speculation in my step away and take some time off. Even if he does though, the Steelers still retain his rights under contract.
  6. I think the mistake with Campbell is that people see how intense he is and take him for a meathead. In reality, he's extremely smart.
  7. We're not talking about a successful organization that people are looking to poach from though.
  8. I'd agree. Tabor would also be a possibility but He seems at least somewhat comfortable staying aboard.
  9. Yep. Lots of teams in transition allow guys to seek employment elsewhere just out of courtesy because they realize the new coach will want their own staff. We're trying to interfere, even despite the problems that caused last time.
  10. Similar as with players, NFL contracts basically engender loyalty...but only on one side. Tepper is not allowing guys to interview elsewhere quite possibly in hopes that the new head coach will keep them, but if he doesn't then we screwed those guys out of an opportunity to get a job elsewhere. Dick move... I'd add that if I were making a guess, I'd say she's likely talking about Evero.
  11. More than one Panthers analyst has suggested that personnel is our biggest weakness, and yet we're ignoring established personnel people like Mike Borgonzi and Ray Agnew in favor of analytics guys. My theory on that is it's because Tepper understands and believes in analytics whereas actual personnel evaluation is way over his head. So ultimately It sounds like we're going to hire the person that David Tepper wants over the kind of guy we actually need
  12. From what I've read, the Eagles under Roseman are basically the Eagles under Lurie. Where I think Roseman's greatest strength has been is in hiring good coaches...minus the Chip Kelly thing which was probably more Lurie. Hell, Kelly damn near managed to force Roseman out. Yeah, I want to win too. A big part of that would be getting the right coaches in...and actually keeping them. That's where the Eagles culture fails.
  13. Is the answer to fixing that issue to be found in hiring an analytics guy though?
  14. Sure, but how about you start off by pointing out where I called him a great one? Pretty much every time I've been asked to give him a grade, it's been incomplete. Frankly, it still is. Early on that was because of Rhule, but even with Rhule gone you still had Tepper. There are definite positives (the building of arguably the best offensive line we've had) and also absolute negatives (the collaborative approach to personnel) but ultimately none of that is what sank him. And yes, things actually are that complicated, but sometimes people who don't have enough understanding want to make them seem simple to fit their narrative.
  15. I'd agree. But how do you do that when the guy in charge of doing the hiring wants exactly that kind of person?
  16. Nah. Still would have been pointless. What we've needed most, and probably still need, is non-interference from the owner's box. The next hire might be good or they might not, but unless Tepper takes his hands off things, we might never know.
  17. The advantage to guys that have been around a while is they've got a lot of good connections. That doesn't guarantee they'll hire a good staff of course, but it helps.
  18. Lemme flip the question... If you were a fan of another team and you had seen what happened with us regarding the whole "Hunger Games" thing this past season, would you want your team to hire somebody from the Panthers? I'd agree we need somebody who's strong enough to stand up to Tepper, but I prefer it be someone who doesn't use underhanded tactics. And for the record, the guy I would most recommend as fitting that description is Ed Dodds.
  19. Firing Fitterer just because you fired Rhule was always a stupid argument. Likewise, judging Fitterer without context of the situation / transition was flawed. What I had hoped for was time for Reich and Fitterer to work and grow together, but given what we know now that was never going to happen. I also see again that you're going with the tactic of accusing your debate opponent of the things that you actually do. Granted that works sometimes, but it's weak
