  1. Knowing who to hire for your staff is part of being a head coach.
  2. In that same vein... Didn't realize this. Damn, that's just sad
  3. That's a comparison that people would like
  4. Well, this was expected...
  5. Haven't they already taken enough from us?
  6. That'd be interesting And hey, he does fit the "leader of men" profile.
  7. Obviously way too early, but hey... The pre-Panther picks: 1. Titans - QB Cam Ward, Miami 2. Browns - WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado 3. Giants - QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado 4. Patriots - LB Abdul Carter, Penn State 5. Jaguars - CB Will Johnson, Michigan 6. Raiders+ Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona 7. Jets - DL Mason Graham, Michigan (that last one is gonna make some people swear) And the Panthers Pick... LB Jalon Walker, Georgia Here's their writeup: Carolina's defense can best be summarized by a single number. 534. That's the number of points this team allowed in 2024 — the most in the NFL by nearly 60 points. Carolina fortunately saw some of their investments pay off in a big way courtesy of the life we saw from Bryce Young down the stretch. However, the Panthers will need a more balanced roster in 2025, and it would be wise to start looking at pass rushers who can disrupt the pocket. Jalon Walker has great versatility; the skills to rush or play in space will do wonders for the Panthers' ability to disguise calls. Walker is a powerful rusher with a potent first step; those usually don't last long on draft night.
  8. Didn't actually know he was with Denver now...
  9. Do you believe in Williams, though?
  10. Not like it'd be the first time...
  11. Correct. Someone pointed out McCarthy has a pretty good record against the Bears.
  12. Chicago has long been where quarterbacks and offensive coaches go to die.
  13. He didn't elaborate that I saw. Caught this while I was looking, though... I signed up, trying to get my old ass back in the swing of things after being down so much last year
  14. Not the world's biggest Trevor Lawrence fan but if I'm choosing between him and Caleb Williams...
  15. More about Johnson... THe mention of wanting "alignment" with the front office could mean a couple of things. He might have someone from Detroit he's hoping to take with him. If so, he could be looking for a team that's doing a full house cleaning (but not the Jets). In light of the rumor that he wanted to go to Jacksonville, it's worth pointing out that at least for now the jaguars have retained GM Trent Baalke (heaven only knows why) but owner Shad Khan has stated that the next head coach will report directly to him. Is that "alignment"?
  16. The news is interesting, but I'm struck more by how Kaye frames the story as one of the "top three silliest things in three seasons of silly things". Ya think Mike has an opinion on how the organization's been run of late?
  17. That's not necessarily a terrible take. Some guys do way better as staff members than they do as the guy in charge.
