  1. I like that he's the son of a successful coach himself, though objectively speaking that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Sure, he could be another Kyle Shanahan. He could also be another Jim Mora Jr.
  2. My question would be why. He doesn't really have ties to the area or anyone In the organization that I know of. For what it's worth, in the podcast where he talked about the tidbit on Kelly, Schuyler Callihan said that based on what he's hearing, he believes the current leader in the clubhouse for the Panthers GM job is Brandt Tillis of the Chiefs. He acknowledged somebody else could potentially overtake him as more interviews happen, but that's who he sees in the lead right now.
  3. Basically the same thing that's happening here with Dan Morgan. It kind of implies a foot in the door but might not turn out to be meaningful.
  4. Lots of folks think that would be the smart move. And maybe it would be, but it's also possible it's just an overreaction to screwing up the last time.
  5. An evil little part of me is curious what happens if we get one of those two right but the other wrong
  6. I think the list is big enough as it is. Don't know that we really need to add anybody else. Hell, I'd have probably preferred a smaller list.
  7. From the writer... If that's true, damn
  8. With Brown, we decided that we didn't want to be meanies and block him from a chance to work somewhere else. I'm sure it's out of kindness 🫥
  9. So remember that news item about the Panthers blocking guys from interviewing for lateral moves? Apparently it doesn't apply to everyone
  10. Oh, okay. Yeah, she would know how to take a shot like that.
  11. I'd want his dad along as OL coach at least, maybe even OC to start off.
  12. Part of the discussion was that NFL people question whether candidates will want to tie their futures to David Tepper.
  13. For what it's worth, ESPN made their predictions for the open jobs. Dan Graziano had us hiring Brian Callahan. They predicted Johnson to the Commanders.
  14. That's something I missed too... Interesting
  15. No history of being that way that I know of. I thought his departure from the Ravens was generally amicable but I'd have to look back at it.
  16. Number one right now is probably the Chiefs. Steelers had been the top of that list for years, though they're arguably not what they used to be. The Ravens under Ozzie Newsome, perhaps less so under Eric Dacosta but still up there. The Patriots, if you like the "evil empire" management model. The Cowboys might be if you exclude Jerry Jones from the situation, but you can't. The 49ers, Bills, and Rams have risen up on recent years.but are still in relatively new territory. Some might say the Browns should be in the discussion but the Deshaun Watson deal sinks that idea for me.
  17. Live look at Ben Johnson being "interviewed"...
  18. Why? He certainly knows his Xs and Os 🫥 (arguably better than Brian Johnson does, from what I've seen)
  19. I discussed it somewhere. That whole "hire guys you don't know" trend didn't last long, did it?
  20. No disrespect to Evero, but I wouldn't mind Martindale at all. He's like what Dick LeBeau used to be when he was still around.
