  1. Morgan's pic was in response to your mention of players with no injury history. It's valid that injuries are damn near impossible to predict. That's why I don't necessarily think it's fair to call someone whose career was derailed by injuries "a bust".
  2. I foresee the "Tiny Titan" graphics from Madden getting applied to Young.
  3. Lady Cowboy Fan is a nurse. Judging from my personal dealings with her, I believe she'd probably make a pretty good cop too Also think she'd make a good French maid, naughty schoolgirl, Farmer's daughter and a few other things depending on what's available at 3wishes.com, but that's another discussion.
  4. Eeehhh, maybe. It'd probably come to be viewed the same way they look at a player not doing drills at the Combine. Either way though, I would agree that these scores being leaked is probably only going to decrease the willingness of players to take this test.
  5. No one should take this as a knock on Young's intelligence (though someone probably will) But I do think you kinda have to take into account the fact that he was taking this test on an annual basis from high school forward. The guys who created the test might say that doesn't matter, but they sorta have a vested interest.
  6. I'm not really talking about money. I think he was a decent player. Heck, if you go by money, Chase Daniel is more successful than a lot of players who probably had more talent and ability than him
  7. On the Huddle? I think we probably always were. Maybe I just worded something poorly. Don't know.
  8. I've said before that I could be a return man in the league. I'm certainly not the greatest runner (especially these days) but you'd be surprised how fast I could go if I've got an angry 300 pound man chasing me
  9. The length of Cam Newton's career vs the length of Tom Brady's career reinforces the notion that being bigger isn't everything. And that's what's been said with regard to Young. Hell, I've pointed out myself before that mobility isn't the best defense against getting hit. Fast processing is. Lord knows Young has that. Inevitably though, he is going to be hit. That's where I cringe. Just have to hope he's both smart enough and durable enough to minimize the damage. Lord knows he'll have a coaching staff that can help him in that area.
  10. Several years of this sort of thing soon to come, I expect
  11. No, and I'm not saying we should necessarily pass on Young. It's something that you have to factor into the decision though.
  12. My string theory is that whoever we draft will be first string...unless it's Anthony Richardson
  13. I grant that everybody has durability concerns, but at the same time could you honestly say you'd be more worried about Terrell Owens taking a hit than you would Tutu Atwell? And yes, all defenses are going to try to hit the quarterback. But again, hitting Bryce Young isn't quite the same as hitting Cam Newton. Plus you have to figure the dirty ones are gonna go a little harder.
  14. Heh I agree with the point. With that said though, there's a reason why Chris Simms spends his time talking to Mike Florio rather than quarterbacking on a football field. The durability concerns are most definitely real.
  15. I think of "football intelligence" as kind of a skill set. A guy like Gronkowski comes off dumb as a brick but he knew his football well enough. Processing speed is a pretty big deal too. I know people that could probably solve just about any problem given enough time. If something has to be solved within like three minutes or so though, they're probably gonna fail.
  16. You wouldn't call Fitzpatrick a success? I know he's not exactly a Hall of Famer but I wouldn't say he's a bust either.
  17. He later went on to quarterback the Carolina Panthers after he had his name legally changed to Jake Delhomme
  18. Great players frequently make poor coaches. A lot of times it's because what made them great isn't something they can necessarily transfer to others.
  19. I've been a Stroud proponent, which is funny because when it comes to quarterbacks, I'm normally a guy who cares less about measurables and more about intangibles. Young is absolutely everything that I would want a quarterback to be. He's smart, he processes well, he's an accurate passer, all the most important stuff. But yes, I worry about his durability. Especially so because you know other teams are going to try to hit him as hard as possible. And I think you can get pretty close to Young's intangibles with Stroud while not having the durability concerns. Ultimately though, I think Young will be the guy so I just have to commit to cringing and covering my eyes when he takes a hit
  20. Can't speak for snow, but I would say while Young is probably the pick, you never know until you hear the name read. (that's why the draft always makes me nervous)
  21. Absolutely. Every team tries to hit the quarterback, but there are certain teams for whom I would say doing physical damage to them is...encouraged. (the Saints are definitely not the only dirty team) And yes, you have to take that kind of thing into account when you're looking at Young.
