Anthony Richardson Film Breakdown Megathread
Mr. Scot replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seems like he's dropping -
I remember Scott Fitterer openly saying in a season ending press conference after Rhule's second year that short arms on a tackle weren't that big a deal. At the time, it felt like a signal that all was not well in Pantherland; that there might be some... disharmony. Turns out there was.

Good advice always...

Thomas Davis has apparently jumped off the Richardson train... -
Gotcha

Our old coach apparently has a new set of wheels... Might possibly have come with a note from Dan Snyder saying "Shhhhh!' (seriously, nothing but love for Ron)

Draft Day should absolutely be a national holiday The Monday after Super Bowl should as well.

Does being a heisman QB guarantee success in the pros..
Mr. Scot replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
Heisman doesn't mean sh-t to me, especially since over the last several years it's tended to go to the more athletic quarterback types who are great in college but hit or miss in the NFL. The thing with Young though is he's not the world's greatest athlete. He's smart, processes quickly, has good accuracy and is overall just what you would want in a quarterback. The durability question is the only thing. -
He did say the decision would be made early next week but I don't remember him mentioning a presser. They had one this week. Not sure why they'd need one again until the pick is made.
-
Correct. It's one of the things that feeds the confirmation bias some folks have. Reporters right now only seem to ask about Young. Then Fitterer answers a question and someone acts like he just spontaneously brought him up. Nobody asks about Stroud. Then someone notes "Oh,he didn't mention Stroud" . Well, no he didn't...because he wasn't asked about him. If he did mention him unprompted, people's tongues would start wagging, so he's wise not to. To be clear, I think Young is probably going to be the pick, but I've learned to never assume anything for certain until the actual pick is announced. (hell, Jason Peter taught me that)
-
He didn't talk about Richardson either...until he was asked about him. It's a smart move if you're being cagey to not bring up anyone's name unless you're asked.
-
Kinda makes sense because I believe that was the Seahawks prototype as well
-
They probably shouldn't be.

Yeah, sure I've said already I think it's Young and I'm okay with it, but it's also wise to keep all things in context. For example, if you listen to the podcast you'll hear the above quote was in response to a direct question about Young. It's not like Fitterer just said that offhand. Always check the context. Twitter quotes don't necessarily tell you everything.
-
Asked about Tepper, Fitterer reiterated that he plays a "support role" but that he's not making the decision. He's leaving the final choice to Reich and Fitterer. And amen to that

Dammit, dude! I was your source on that. You're not supposed to cite me without attribution -
That's a real possibility too. The flipside of course is that it speaks to how much they like Young. I honestly don't doubt that if we wanted to, we could get something from them. The question is whether that "something' would be worth it. Not an easy question to answer
