Funny you should ask...
-
How long since they've lasted in the playoffs though? I think the Steelers are on the decline.

"Historically Well Ran" retired about three years ago

I wouldn't call this "desperate". "Experimental" is probably the better word. Heck, even if you call it a gamble, it's one that's extremely low risk.
-
Draft gab from a couple local sources ponders whether the Steelers might try to trade up for Sheduer Sanders, and more specifically that they may try to trade with the Panthers. Not sure where this idea sprouted from or whether there's anything to it (minus corroborating discussion from Insiders, seems unlikely) but for the sake of discussion, here's what they're talking about...

So this is the big dude in question...

I don't follow basketball so outside of his height and weight, I know nada.

I'd wanna know who those heads belong to. For example, if they spend this offseason improving the defense only to have it still look mediocre or worse in the coming season, then Id say bye bye to Evero. (half expected to do that after last year)
-
He's big, athletic and used to catching passes. There's that
-
This is not something I'd likely have high expectations for, but I'm not against this kind of experimentation at the bottom of the roster.

Thanks, everybody. Best from me...

From Mike Sando in The Athletic: Carolina Panthers Added: $53.4M (8th) | Lost: $14.9M (29th) | Differential: $38.5M (5th) With quarterback Bryce Young making strides in 2024 while the Panthers’ defense plummeted 10 spots to No. 32 in EPA per play, Carolina signed four defensive free agents from other teams to deals worth at least $7 million per year. That tied New England for the most by any team in free agency this offseason (Buffalo was third with three). “They got a little better, but they are still working from a deficit,” an exec said. “They were a three-year reset from last year, so this is just year two for them.” Carolina, like Arizona, lost out on Eagles defensive lineman Williams when New England outbid everyone, signing him to a deal worth $26 million per year. The Panthers presumably wanted to stay below the $24 million average for their own defensive lineman, Derrick Brown, and the $25 million figure for Jaycee Horn, the cornerback Carolina recently extended. The Panthers instead bolstered their defensive front with Tershawn Wharton ($15 million APY) and Bobby Brown ($7 million APY), whose combined APY was $22 million. “It was easier for New England to do that with Milton Williams than it would have been for Carolina,” another exec said. “Wharton is smaller than Williams but had similar production.” Link (subscription required)

This could be where the Raiders go for their temporary quarters solution.

Well, technically it's about us playing like sh-t, so...
-
Don't know how well researched this is, but if it's accurate, yikes
-
Not if you play for the Dolphins...

Also...

Stewart and Rhule go way back. That was discussed during his time working with us. Most recently he was the Patriots Director of Pro Personnel (had a lot of history in New England too)

Additional breakdown from Joe Person: Side Note: Lemme tell ya, it was a nightmare trying to get all of these to embed

Yikes Yes, Newton was a great teammate, or at least he became one. There were definitely some stories from his rookie season that were somewhat less than complimentary. And based on what Charles Johnson says, it sounds like there are more yet to be told. On the mic though, Newton was always that friend who made you cringe when he started talking. Lots of us have had friends and acquaintances that we knew meant well but for whom we often had to apologize and/or clarify what they meant. Unfortunately, that's Cam. When he started making his journey toward becoming a talking head, It would be one that had its fair share of bumps in the road. Looks like we've hit one And yes, Smith can certainly be one to shoot his mouth off as well, but it doesn't exactly sound like he's alone in his viewpoint here.

Nope. That season ended with the NFC Championship. The Super Bowl never happened. That's how I remember it. That's how I will always remember it

I'm hoping we get back to the Super Bowl someday. It's a shame we haven't been there since the 2003 season
