  1. I'd have to look back but I think there were some player connections that helped. I know Campen had been on two straight staffs whose head coaches had been fired one season after he got there. His post Green Bay career was a little hectic before he settled here.
  2. James Campen as well, but they were definitely exceptions to the Rhule
  3. Oh, there was definitely a blueprint. You just had to be smart enough to see it, and Phillips is a defensive genius. Even without that though, you've still got Wade Phillips vs Mike Shula. Combine that with Ron Rivera stating there was no need for any adjustments and you've got a recipe for disaster. We've won poorly officiated games before. Hell, we won them that season. You can win a poorly officiated game way easier than a poorly coached one.
  4. Been a while since I've heard that
  5. The story has come out since (I think from Gantt, not dead certain) that they actually did assign someone to help Remmers but whoever it was didn't do it. Think someone theorized it was Tolbert but it was never confirmed.
  6. Ron Rivera and Mike Shula vs Wade Phillips definitely mattered. Atlanta had given everyone the blueprint for beating us already. Phillips followed it, and our staff did nothing to counter them.
  7. I feel like I need to qualify that number by knowing how many of those 10 times included Ron Rivera coaching us and Wade Phillips coaching for them.
  8. It was 45 the last time that rule was in effect. It changed in the last few years but I'm guessing it'll go back to 45 again.
  9. He probably will. Vick did too. But you have to look at the big picture. Insane highlight reels are great and they certainly make you popular, but they don't always win games. Steady, consistent play is what builds a perennial winner.
  10. Irsay...nuff said Especially when the previous system wasn't really that great.
  11. I like to think I'm a good writer, but I don't have the words to express just how happy I am that dipsh-t is gone.
  12. Basically the mindset of a college coach...
  13. That's not the "53". It's talking about the active gameday roster.
  14. This is the kind of "hired gun" signing you've frequently seen the Patriots do in the past.
  15. Rhule wouldn't have wanted to have somebody smarter than him to stand up and speak.
  16. Hayes is as with us previously, wasn't he?
  17. Matt Rhule's "process" had everyone unhappy. Frank Reich is definitely different from what we had, though. Here's hoping he's the guy to lead us to the Promised Land.
