  1. Wrong on several points. The philosophies in the playbook are meshed, but the plays and the playbook were designed "from the ground up" (per his own words) by Brown. That's like if I wrote a story influenced by the styles of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and John Saul. It might include their motifs, but I still wrote it. If you look back, you'll see Spanish posted a summary of what the process might have been like, and I agreed. CRA has been trying to characterize that as me saying Reich had no influence on the playbook. That was never what I said, just that Brown is the one who wrote it. But then CRA needed to mischaracterize what I said in order to put his own spin on it otherwise his argument looks even worse than it already does. Likewise, it's not correct to call me a "huge Scott Fitterer fan" (I get that a lot) when my primary argument has just been that the circumstances don't merit just dismissing him. What I am also quite vehemently against is David Tepper making any more football moves without some kind of outside help, and yes that includes firing anybody currently on staff. No if you want to see I'm a huge fan of Frank Reich, that I am. I'm also inclined to give him (or anyone) tome to actually make their mark before dismissing them. We're only seven game into his tenure, but apparently people are already talking about his entire career being a bust. That's just dumb. And yes, acting like you could predict the whole season based on preseason games was dumb too; still is. So is overreading what we had last year with Wilks and not looking into the full context of things. Unfortunately, this is the way a lot of things on the Huddle seem to go.
  2. Sounds like you're looking for a way out of this conversation before it gets any deeper than the surface.
  3. I saw yesterday that he changed his jersey number. That's about it.
  4. That's been my read. He's basically been having to account for his own position while also helping two weaker guards. Having Corbett back looked like it made a huge difference. Now if we could shore up the other spot...
  5. Is that all you've got or are you googling more articles to try to find criticisms of Reich?
  6. Side Note: I don't really play fantasy football. Anybody else's league got rules like this?
  7. Starting to sound like the players absolutely hated McDaniels
  8. Patriots writer for the Boston Herald thinks the story's got legs...
  9. Understood. I expect there's usually more than one choice.
  10. Based on what I see, I'm going to guess it's showing everywhere. They just didn't create a second map because it's the only late game CBS has. Fox has a second map because there are two late game choices. You could interpret it as being blacked out, but I don't think so. Given the markets that it does show up in, that'd be some odd choices.
  11. I like to think that if he were healthy this year, flip-flopping he and Ekwonu could have been an option. He fits the typical West Coast LT mold way better than Ickey would.
  12. Pretty much. It's what he was hired to do, and it's consistent with his qualifications. Had Reich had just wanted a rubber stamp guy, he could easily have hired somebody a lot less qualified than Thomas Brown.
  13. That wouldn't surprise me at all. I don't think he's been healthy all year.
  14. That's pretty standard procedure for playbook writing. It's really only hard to understand if you're pushing an agenda (like trying to blame Reich for everything).
  15. Not exactly play calling, but a wrinkle added... Gotta confess I didn't notice.
  16. Somewhat related, didn't see it posted anywhere...
  17. That's not an easy thing to do in what's primarily a West Coast based scheme. For what we've got at the moment, Moton seems capable of handling it. Corbett can do it also given that he came from a similar offense with the Rams. It's from the center to the left where we have questions. I do think Bozeman can do it (FJ disagrees with me there) and I think could probably handle it if he were at the left guard spot rather than left tackle. Unfortunately, that leaves us needing a left tackle again. Could they conceivably switch up this game though? It might be in limiting the playbook somewhat, but it's possible. Difficult, but possible.
  18. I honestly didn't see a huge difference in the playcalling. What I think did make a difference last game were some of the personnel choices. Specifically, Blackshear being active, Tremble playing instead of Ian Thomas, and of course Chuba Hubbard being the primary runningback. If Frank has an issue, I don't think it's necessarily playcalling. It more likely might be depth chart evaluation and arrangement.
  19. Looked, but I can't find confirmation of this anywhere. Most recent thing I found is this...
  20. I might not have been until this past week when he got Corbett back on his flank. Still need to tune that left side though.
