Brady Quinn said some negative things about Watson and wound up getting in a Twitter war with Watson's QB guru Quincy Avery. With this response... ...I think I'd have to give the match to Quinn.

Once dated a girl who had an extensive Beanie Baby collection she believed was going to make her a ton of money. She made the opposite mistake

My stepson was a Pokemon kid. I know more about the characters than I honestly care to

Not quite... Gettleman led the most successful era of Panthers football we ever saw. For whatever you thought of he and Rivera individually, they worked pretty well as a team in Carolina, and may well have continued to. But of course, Richardson had to have Marty back. Hell, dumbass fired Gettleman after what was likely his best draft as Panthers GM. And then, naturally, Rivera/Hurney the sequel was a disaster...just like it had been the first time. As Giants GM, Gettleman was way more assertive and controlling as Giants GM (firing Marc Ross right off the bat, for example). Unchecked, his tenure was a mess

Had a coworker who talked to the wife of a front office guy at the time. She told him Marty Hurney was trying to get two second rounders for Peppers from Belichick but he wasn't budging.

To which I'd answer...we still don't know. This offseason was bound to have a fair amount of roster turnover due to changing systems on both sides of the ball. And despite the insistence of some that they can predict entire careers after watching just a few snaps of preseason play, you can't judge draft picks this early. I know people want to b-tch about the team getting their hopes up and whatever, but the reality is any unrealistic expectations for what was always going to be a rebuilding season is nobody's fault but your own.

I remember him being a good player though perhaps better suited to man a traditional 4-3 MLB role than a 3-4 inside backer spot.

That's the kind of thing I'd probably ask for some clarity on

Martinez is a player I wished we'd go after for years before he retired to trade Pokemon cards (something which wound up turning into an even weirder story than it originally was)
-
Do they still have high picks to trade?

Who let you in?

These are similar to my take... It's reasonable to expect maybe some changes (like faster calls) and perhaps continued steady improvement over time as Young keeps learning and adjusting to the pro game. But I think folks expecting any sort of instant turnaround or thinking the offense is going to suddenly look like The Greatest Show on Turf Part 2 just because somebody else is calling the plays are likely getting their hopes up for no reason.

Gotta head out. Lady Cowboy Fan needs help.

Man, Hill is just such a weapon.
-
They don't exactly have much of a connection in the regular season, though. Looked like they might in preseason but it hasn't materialized. Young definitely needs work on that front.
-
Probably gonna see a lot more blitzing this half
-
For the kind of offense we use, a speed receiver who can catch it and run (like our old #89 used to) would be just as effective. Mind you, even in a WCO, It's good to have a deep threat also,
-
Wanted to make sure we got some points out of it since they get the ball to start the third. Unfortunately, we didn't.
-
The guy who went for it on fourth down with a Hekker pass?
-
Agreed. Still needs work on the long passes but overall pretty good. Wish they would have called a run on that last third down though.
