General talk maybe, but not contract or football-specific talk. The NFL does not like loopholes.
-
Good news for him, but we still can't have any 'official' contact till after the 9th.
-
What you're talking about happens with existing teammates, and relatively minor amounts. If it were done with big money and used as an enticement to bring him aboard, the league would go ape s--t.

NFL says Pats guilty, and Brady knew
Mr. Scot replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Based on what I've heard and read, I don't expect the team to take any hits on this one either. But I think Brady will. So if you consider penalizing Brady the same as penalizing the team - which is reasonable - then there ya go. -
You were correct.

 -
He wasn't an NFL employee when any of this happened.
-
It means nothing of the sort.

What I especially love about this story is the text from the Pats employee saying "Tom sucks" -

The NFL already knew the Patriots were cheaters. This time, it's not gonna be the Pats. It's gonna be Brady. -

Translation: We're going to scapegoat some low level nobody and try to convince the league that's punishment enough -
There are way more than four teams interested. But honestly, how often does the national media know anything about the Panthers?
-
Plus he has two Super Bowl rings.
-
Co-signed Malcolm Glazer, Dan Snyder, Mike Brown, Jimmy Haslam, Mark Davis, Jerry Jones and the Benson family.
-
Given where he was expected to go, I would guess every team that interested in him would be willing to guarantee the maximum amount that they can. The difference in the money offered is likely going to be relatively minimal no matter where he goes.
-
Ah.
-
He was probably busy heating up some chicken in his kitchen.
-
No confusion. It's just wrong. Voth has already confirmed that we are indeed interested as long as he's clear (which there is every indication he will be). The whole "Jerry will never let us sign him" bit is just silly.
-
Well, that's better than we usually do.
-
Correct, but you'll never convince the dimwits.
-
Zod and Voth disagree. Unless the police actually decide he's a suspect, the Panthers will be interested.
