  1. And yeah, if he does sign, let the 'Criminal Minds' jokes begin.
  2. Are people really complaining about what the proper shade of blue is? Anyway, if he were to sign here I'd expect him to be going back to DE. We might have him bulk up a little but honestly he's not that light. Other than Charles Johnson all of of current DEs are in the general range of 265 to 275.
  3. Possible. Cole was cut so he doesn't have to wait till Tuesday.
  4. You sure about that? News of our meeting with Oher didn't surface till long after it happened.
  5. Sure why not. I mean, remember how devastating he was against us after Newton pissed him off by calling him 'Donkey Kong'? No? Me neither.
  6. I think you're doing fine. Updates like you're posting are what this thread is for.
  7. I'm guessing whatever junior staffer they've assigned to update that mixed up Bell and Michael Oher.
  8. Not really 'free agent' news, but Voth reports Ron Rivera is having lunch with UCLA DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa,
  9. Herremans is a decent guard. Up there a bit so maybe primary depth but could also be a decent starter.
  10. I look at Bryan Bulaga and I see Todd Steussie. I think he's decent, but I don't think he's great. I think the lack of other options is inflating his stock. So no, I;m not so sure I'd pay him that salary, especially not if he were meant to be a stopgap. He'd be a good stopgap, mind you, but I don't think he's as good as he's getting repped to be.
  11. Could be due to the 'Top 51' rule. Right now, not everyone counts under the cap. Only the highest 51 salaries are calculated. Thus, it's possible that the Saints are making transactions now that they'll have to cover later.
  12. CBS reporting that the Chargers plan to chase Randall Cobb, Ndamujong Suh and Mike Iupati. Quite a haul if they land all three.
  13. PFT reporting that the Browns have scheduled Trent Cole for a visit. Cardinals might go after him too.
  14. Read somewhere that Barksdale is looking for something like 7-8 million a year. I wouldn't pay that much for him.
  15. First "agreed to terms" news of the negotiating period I think, but he wasn't an outside free agent for them. Still waiting for the first "sign away".
  16. Could someone please lock this thread so we don't have to see this stupidity anymore?
  17. I like Chase Blackburn but I'm not sure how much he can go anymore (older, injured).
  18. Florio says the Cowboys might go after C J Spiller if they can't keep DeMarco Murray.
  19. "Legal tampering" is kind of a running gag among sportswriters. It comes from back when the NFL used to allow signings starting at midnight on the first day of the free agent period, You'd get contracts amazingly agreed to and signed by 12:05am, but everybody always swore they hadn't committed any tampering (yeah, right). The ever image conscious NFL finally just decided to create the three day 'negotiating period to preserve the excitement of the start of free agency (also moving it to an hour when more people were awake and online) while, ideally, minimizing the appearance of tampering since teams would have three days to arrange deals before signing anyone. It'll probably continue to be known as 'legal tampering' by those familiar with the old system for some time.
  20. Still blows my mind to imagine that role played by Eric Stolz.
  21. I like Rapoport, but he has been known to get ahead of himself. Case in point: His report that most of the Patriots deflated balls were "just a tick" under, something about which an NFL official later just said "Ian's wrong about that".
  22. Heck, we saw plays last year where Bell got confused and just stood there blocking nobody while guys ran right past him.
