  1. White thoroughly screwed himself. If he'd have had patience and let the plan to develop him play out, who knows what could have happened?
  2. Easy. Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Pat McAfee and how about a fella named Bruce Irvin? There are several others, but those are the most recognized at the moment. Past players include guys like Jeff Hostetler (Super Bowl champion QB, Darryl Talley (went to the Bills four Super Bowls), Renaldo Turnbull (a member of the Dome Patrol with Sam Mills), Marc Bulger (took over the Greatest Show on Turf from Kurt Warner), Alvoid Mays (Super Bowl champ with the Oilers), Mike Compton, Rich Braham, John Thornton, Solomon Page, Owen Schmitt, Amos Zereoue, Anthony Becht, Chuck Howley, Hall of Famer Sam Huff and our own Todd Sauerbrun. And while we're at it, let's not forget that WVU just a few years back beat a Hakeem Nicks led UNC team in a bowl game. They also embarrassed Clemson in a 70 point beatdown.
  3. Please. You were one of the loudest, longest whiners after last year's draft, and it turned out to be our best ever. No, nobody's infallible, but your opinions are pretty uninformed and out of touch with reality.
  4. He's been solid two years in a row (which pretty much never happened to the Panthers before) and last year's rookie class was the best we've ever seen. Knowing these things, why shouldn't we trust him?
  5. If you would have polled draft experts last year as to what our biggest need was, the universal answer would have been left tackle. By the time our pick came up, all of the tackles worth taking in the first round we're already gone. If we didn't follow a BPA philosophy, we would have taken the best remaining tackle anyway, even though it would have meant using our first round pick on a lesser talent. So basically, we'd have passed over Kelvin Benjamin for Morgan Moses or Cyrus Kouandijo. That is why you draft BPA.
  6. The alternative to BPA is reaching for need. Reaching for need is what stupid teams do, and the results show it.
  7. Yep. And on gameday, we have a subset that's always ready to declare defeat as soon as the opponent scores (even if we scored first). Plus you have the crowd that annually declares the offseason a failure if we haven't thrown a jillion dollars at somebody they saw on Sportscenter within the first hour. That same crowd will probably be screaming that every pick we make on Draft Day is a mistake. Throw in the people who predict 0-16 after the first half of one quarter of preseason play. Sheesh
  8. Might have wanted more money or a longer contract. Still not bothered. I'm okay either way. Worth remembering that more than one guy who left without signing last year eventually signed.
  9. Actually as i recall it was Jordan Gross, speaking on local radio, who hinted that he had a poor work ethic. Gross seemed to think he wasn't working as hard as he should have been to get back on the field. (pretty sure it was discussed on here around that time)
  10. From the Observer story (link) And from David Newton... Pretty sure he'll sign.
  11. Who just shockingly retired. (shocking because few people actually realized he was still in it)
  12. I actually think he'll be signed. It's just taking longer than we're used to.
  13. Forgot Dickson. You're right. I think he's the only one though. (Olsen wasn't a free agent)
  14. I'm not even sure the Saints can sign their rookie class for that, especially given they've traded for extra picks.
  15. Nobody yet has gotten more than two years. It'd have to be a pretty low salary.
  16. Worth looking up. Pretty sure he's the only other RB getting first round talk. That said, I'm not really a big fan of first round runningbacks anymore.
  17. I'm not sure anybody screwed it up (other than the people who reported it as done). If he's got other options, he might just be taking his time and making sure he makes the best decision. I wouldn't fault him for that. Plus, if Person is right, he isn't actually in two (just his agent). If he ultimately signs here, cool. If not, we move on.
