  1. Watson is reportedly a big fan of Robert Saleh. Miami and San Francisco both have former colleagues of Nick Caserio (Brian Flores and Adam Peters) in high places. Plus each has a young quarterback they can offer in return. For Watson, San Francisco has the additional appeal of Kyle Shanahan's system.
  2. Jay Cutler trade was two firsts and two seconds plus something else, if I remember correctly. That's an example of another quarterback trade, but not one that worked out.
  3. There'll be enough teams interested that they just might get it. Don't think it'll be from us though.
  4. My sister's a big fan because of his work with autism. Years back, he sent her an autographed football to raffle off for a fundraiser. Kudos for all that but yeah, he's still a dick.
  5. Maybe if we're talking year three or four. His first couple of years, I remember him coming out and giving jaw dropping performances in the first half then fading in the second.
  6. I remember reading about a player who idolized Marino growing up. Then he got to the NFL, got to play against Marino, saw how he acted on the field and got over it.
  7. When he was picked at number 26, plenty of people questioned whether he was even worth that. I just don't see a year of practicing and sitting on the bench as adding enough value to make him worth a pick 18 spots higher.
  8. I don't really think I'd use the #8 pick on Jordan Love even if he were still in college.
  9. I remember, but the last time I checked the draft order we had pick 40.
  10. I don't actually think he's trying to spin anything. He's basically just pointing out that we're not very good, and haven't been for a while longer than just this past year.
  11. Same. Fourth quarter comeback means you were losing after the first three. It's exciting to watch and all but I'd rather see us be consistent for an entire 60 minutes.
  12. My sense is that a whole lot of people are gonna blow their load thinking about this and it's not even gonna come close to happening.
  13. So now you have a head coach that you hired in order to appease a star player but that star player still wants to be traded. Aaahhh, the Texans...
  14. Reports are saying he made the request weeks ago but the news is only coming out now
  15. Jones is someone he unsuccessfully tried to recruit to Baylor so he was already somewhat aware of him. I don't know that I see us taking him at pick eight, though I acknowledge it is a possibility. Taking him after a trade down is also possible.
  16. I'd say a lot depends on Caserio. They seem to have pretty much handed him the keys, so if he's as good as they think, who knows? If he's not? Well, at least it should be entertaining to us non-Texans fans.
  17. "The thing you see about Mac right off the bat, he’s a gamer. He’s got a great presence about him. He loves the moment, loves the competition. So there’s not much doubt that he has that quarterback swagger that you can feel when you’re on the field." - Rhule talking about Mac Jones (The Athletic)
  18. Yeah, and a pretty interesting life story from what I've read. As mentioned, wasn't really on anybody's radar before this but he's getting endorsements from all over the place, most prominently from Reid. Could turn out to be a good choice. We'll see.
  19. From the Texans or from us? They're certainly bending over backwards to try and please him. Culley wasn't really on anybody's head coaching radar prior to this.
  20. Ravens receiver coach David Culley beats out Leslie Frazier and Eric Bieniemy for the Texans head coaching job. His status as a friend of quarterback Deshaun Watson likely helped. Watson met Culley at the Pro Bowl a few years back and the two reportedly hit it off. Culley also received an endorsement from Andy Reid after having worked under Reid at previous coaching stops. So the team ends up with an Andy Reid guy, just not the one people expected. Additionally, it's reported that Watson favorite Tim Kelly will retain his job as offensive coordinator. Others said to be joining the coaching staff include Lovie Smith and possibly Josh McCown. Despite being 65 years old, and as such the oldest first time head coach ever hired, Culley has a reputation for relating well with younger players. Will be interesting to see wherr the Deshaun Watson saga goes from here.
  21. A chance to play in Kyle Shanahan's offense? I'd take that.
