  1. A lot of them. Remember, the Texans moved quickly on Nick Caserio because his agent told Cal McNair we were on the verge of throwing the bank at him. It was bullsh-t, but all that mattered was McNair believed it.
  2. It's not exactly high on my list of "things I want to see" either. I acknowledge it's a possibility though.
  3. There's a tweet from the NFL Rumors and Updates account that says the Steelers and Panthers are interested in Trubisky. That site I don't take seriously. Josh Klein I take seriously.
  4. I'm sure this'll be a very positive and productive discussion
  5. How exactly do you want to "hold fans accountable"? And the resolution of the trade had nothing to do with anyone's wishes (except those of the Lions).
  6. Ugh. Hate stories like this. Reid's family has an unfortunate history of trouble.
  7. Here's how I understand the logic behind it... Brees knows he's not going to get paid either way because he's retiring, so his salary being on the books only affects the Saints negatively with no benefit.. To fix this, he reduces his salary to league minimum. The Saints can't get entirely away from his contract, but this does a lot to lessen the impact of it. It's a "team player" sort of thing, and the Saints can definitely use the cap relief.
  8. Worth remembering that analysts characterized this as "an aggressive offer".
  9. And one that they were prepared to accept.
  10. ... Bridgewater, per Peter Schrager (quoted by Josh Klein) Person had been speculating on this previously. So it sounds like the total offer was #8, a later pick (probably third to fifth, I'm guessing from what I've read) and Teddy Bridgewater.
  11. Roseman is the Marty Hurney to Jeffrey Lurie's Jerry Richardson. No matter what happens, Lurie always seems to blame the coaches rather than Roseman. Hell, he fired Andy Reid but kept Roseman around.
  12. I'd feel pretty good about either one, honestly.
  13. Right now I'd say that team might be the Eagles. They hired Nick Sirianni on part because he was connected to Frank Reich. But if not the Eagles, then possibly Reich himself.
  14. Let's clarify one thing while we're having this discussion... "In on every deal" doesn't mean we're going to make an offer on every single player that comes available. It just means we're going to check in on all of them. If we think they have value, we'll evaluate it. If we evaluate and think "not worth it" we'll do nothing. If we see something we like though, we'll make an offer. And don't get too hung up on "aggressive" either. Just because we say we're "aggressive" doesn't mean we'll overspend.
  15. Matt Rhule has made clear that the Panthers are going to be looking at players' character when it comes to every position. I'd imagine even more so at quarterback given the leadership that position entails.
  16. It's the Pro Bowl. What the hell would it have hurt?
  17. It's kind of weird hearing that Watson doesn't want to go to a team that mortgages its future in order to get him while also listening to fans cry out for their team to mortgage its future in order to get him
  18. I remember watching a game of his a couple years back and thinking "this guy is gonna be the best quarterback in the league". Hasn't turned out that way since.
  19. Courtesy of our buddy Ellis...
  20. Rashawn Slater being drafted by the Bengals over Penei Sewell, though?
