Still no changes... Changing who calls the plays doesn't matter if your scheme is still a mismatch. We're continuing to try and run a West Coast Offense with personnel who just don't hit a WCO scheme. It makes no sense at all.

Not a fan of digging into the college system for ideas... One, you don't draft the smartest quarterback available just to keep him in a college system. But the more immediate point, Dan Quinn is a super smart DC and it wouldn't surprise me to know that he's already done that looking for tendencies.

There's been a fair amount of reporting about it. Vet QB decisions were all Rhule, with the exception of Darnold's fifth year option being Fitterer's call. Long term, Fitterer wanted to draft one, chose Corral largely because that's who McAdoo thought was the best choice. The players with the Temple/Baylor connections were Rhule's picks. So was Thomas Fletcher. Someone recently mentioned he wanted to replace JJ Jansen because Jansen had a strong voice. Hadn't heard that one previously but it's not hard to believe. Beyond that, scouting and such for deeper in the draft would have been Fitterer and the scouting department with guidance from Rhule. As with any front office, others played roles as well (Pat Stewart was said to have been helpful in getting Haason Reddick). So basically, Rhule would have been the spearhead for most major decisions. Of course, reports were that it was. "collaborative" but Rhule's idea of collaboration was to basically badger people continuously until they saw things his way.

He might have...in private. NFL teams don't take kindly to having their dirty laundry aired in public. Not doing that is the right choice.

Understood, though his statement was that he planned to tool the schemes to fit the players (an idea that made perfect sense). He didn't live up to that...at all. And I really don't know why.

Defensive side of the ball isn't trash at all. Banged up as hell perhaps, but not trash. Special teams has been good too. And to be clear, I'm not "clinging to hope" for anything except Tepper not screwing things up even worse. No, I don't think Fitterer should be fired, but if it does happen I won't be broken up. I'll see it as a mistake, not a tragedy. But then, mistakes aren't exactly a new thing under Tepper, are they?

Disagree. A terrible roster would be weak in all phases. We're only weak in one. The roster does have weak spots (most do) but the OL wasn't one of them until they changed to zone blocking. That wasn't an attempt to scheme around a weakness. It was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It's a complete mystery to me why it was done this way.
