  1. I guess that's probably a big reason why some folks think we'll trade down.
  2. Or a good team because of familiarity. (i.e. Buffalo, not Washington)
  3. Saw this coming... There was word that Peters was out of our GM search because San Francisco made him some promises in order to retain him. Said at the time that if he wound up getting a promotion, it would probably substantiate those rumors. Working for the 49ers was his dream job anyway since he grew up as a big fan. Knew that'd be an obstacle we'd have to overcome if we wanted him.
  4. I think what hurt Rivera more than anything was this desire he had to see every veteran player have a happy ending to their story.
  5. Won't lie. I'm kinda hoping he goes elsewhere.
  6. Remember what it felt like going into offseasons knowing that our fate was in the hands of Ron Rivera and Marty Hurney? Sure feels different now.
  7. Said it above: I think that probably had more to do with Ron Rivera then Marty Hurney. Granted, the two of them were basically two sides of the same bad coin.
  8. I suspect the next move is franchising Taylor Moton.
  9. I would think of Boston more as a Rivera guy than a Hurney guy.
  10. I was thinking he was on a two year deal. If it was only one, then yeah he's gone.
  11. That could very well be what the expression means to Fitterer though. That's largely how I took it.
  12. Lack of good quarterbacks or lack of good quarterback development? I've seen that question posed a couple of times. It's a valid one.
  13. I suppose Paradis is still possible but we've got so few offensive linemen under contract it's hard to say. Worth noting that we are in the period where franchise players can be designated, so we could get news on Moton soon.
  14. Probably went for a big hit but missed.
  15. Mentioned in the other thread that Fitterer has been meeting with the scouting personnel. Guessing that they've been doing roster evaluations and these transactions are coming out of that. Makes me wonder if anybody else is in the pipeline.
  16. Okay so far today, Boston, Weatherly, and Palardy. Wonder if anybody else is in the pipeline. Also wonder when we're going to hire a DL coach
  17. They didn't. He's only been informed of his release. It won't be official until the league year starts.
  18. It's just noting a trend from those particular years. Guys drafted from 2017 forward would still be on their rookie contracts. And to be clear, it's not going to stop teams from drafting quarterbacks high, but obviously they need to do a better job of either drafting the right ones or developing the ones they draft.
  19. Seeing word from Jeremy Fowler that Stephen Weatherly and Mike Palardy have gotten the same news. Apparently, it's cut down day.
  20. As I recall, Fitterer was meeting with all the scouting staff for a two week period to get our offseason plans started. Gotta figure these recent transactions are probably coming out of those meetings.
