  1. I'd say Newton handled it better than a lot of us would. Charles Johnson agrees...
  2. I have said, and will always say, that when the game is on I want to win. But if we're in a situation like we were last year, losing isn't exactly gonna bother me much. And yeah, obviously winning that game hurt us. I don't really think anybody can rightly say otherwise. Thanks again, Ron
  3. If you gave me a choice between a quarterback who has great physical tools but lesser mental skills versus one with top mental ability but lesser physical skills, I'm taking the latter every time. As to Fields, and college quarterbacks in general, very few college systems challenge quarterbacks anymore.
  4. Not sure I'd call them "objections", but trading up makes me nervous. I've said elsewhere I have concerns about all three of the "runners up" behind Lawrence.
  5. One NFL personnel executive told Peter King he thinks it's going to happen. In his latest Football Monday column, King was talking about Todd McShay's analysis of the top four quarterbacks. In that context, he mentioned a man whom he described as "an NFL personnel man who is scouting quarterbacks" having said this: “Three of those four will be taken in the first four picks. The Eagles [at six] will be lucky to have a good one fall to them.” That'd likely put Miami (pick 3) as the team not taking a quarterback. King also mentioned that McShay has Trey Lance, not Justin Fields, rated as the third best quarterback. If the Eagles would be "lucky' at pick six, I guess we'd have to be even luckier at pick eight.
  6. People across the country: "What a stupid, disrespectful little twit." Kid: "Man, everybody's talking about me!"
  7. Typically no, but Seattle liked having more communication between their departments than a lot of other teams might. That helped Fitterer get the job here and I imagine he'll foster that same sort of practice.
  8. Going by what his responsibilities were, I'd say probably not.
  9. Fitterer dabbled in pro scouting but with the Seahawks, that area was primarily under Trent Kirchner (and John Schneider, of course). The college side was Fitterer's primary thing.
  10. Growing up, a good buddy of mine had an uncle who was an absolute dipsh-t. He once got his face shown on local TV as he was being hauled away by the cops. While my friend's mom (his sister) was crying her eyes out over his arrest and what was going to happen to his kids, his attitude was like "Whoo, I got on TV." Little sh-ts who pull dumbass stuff like this so they can get views on social media remind me of him.
  11. Garoppolo reminds me of Chris Chandler. Can be good, not necessarily great, sometimes struggles to stay healthy.
  12. As to my grade I've been saying "incomplete" and I still say it. He did gain some respect from me by finally moving on from Marty, but more so for deferring to what Matt Rhule wanted in a GM. When he first started talking about non-traditional models and doing things differently and blah blah blah, I remember thinking "Oh crap, we're gonna screw this up and hire some Marty Hurney/Howie Roseman type so Tepper can act like he's the smartest guy in the room". Thankfully, that didn't happen
  13. Even Tepper himself has seemed to acknowledge that he kept Marty too long. I suspect if Scott Fitterer does a good job as GM, Tepper's going to get an even better perspective on just how big a mistake that was.
  14. Reminds me of the stuff I've seen about hundred million dollar quarterbacks. I think Roethlisberger and Manning are the only ones to actually win a Super Bowl after getting a hundred million contract. Granted, Tom Brady kind of skews things.
  15. I've seen loads of speculation that the Patriots want Garoppolo back.
  16. I know there's a certain mindset some people have that if they mouth off to somebody famous, it somehow makes them a big deal. My personal opinion is more often than not, it makes you look like a dumbsh-t.
  17. Yeah, that one's a head scratcher. Bridgewater obviously has reason. Thompson though?
  18. Could be worse. Imagine being dumb enough to think that I, as a random internet guy, actually know more about what's going on inside the team than somebody who works for them. Now that would take a complete moron.
  19. To call Dan Sileo "hit or miss" would be a compliment. I suppose it's possible though. Bridgewater's skill set would fit Shanahan's system. Wouldn't imagine he'd think of him as a starter though. The news about Shaq Thompson is definitely interesting.
  20. Wait... Do you genuinely not know that Bill Voth is employed by the Panthers? I swear, we've reached a whole new level of dumb in this thread
  21. Right Here's the thing. Any time he wants to, Bill Voth can walk up to Samir Suleiman and say "Hey man, what would happen to the cap if we traded / cut this player?" I can pretty much guarantee that Suleiman's answer is not going to be "Let me go look that up on the internet." Feel free to write a hundred more paragraphs trying to explain how your opinion as a guy who looks up stuff on the internet is more informed than that of someone who's actually part of the organization. Just be advised ahead of time that you've already lost my interest.
