  1. Legal tampering period doesn't start till Monday but stuff happens. From what I've been reading, I get the impression Davis isn't gonna be back. If he were signing with us, he wouldn't have to wait.
  2. See the post before yours. And he's right. Newton will absolutely get the chance to be the starter, but he'll also very likely have competition.
  3. Right now. Right now, Teddy Bridgewater is the starter for the Panthers. Neither of those things is guaranteed to still be true as of week one.
  4. That's...not guaranteed. He may well be, but pretty much everyone acknowledges that the Patriots are still looking around at the quarterback position.
  5. Having seen his Senior Bowl pictures, that's accurate
  6. I actually get that joke, but I wonder how many other people do
  7. That's not a phrase I heard much back when I was playing (as the saying goes, "there's a reason you play defense")
  8. Kinda wonder if there haven't been some coaches drunk on the sideline too. I know I've seen some decisions from some of our past coaches that made me wonder
  9. You could probably start a whole separate thread just to name camp superstars that never lived up to the hype.
  10. People have tried. As it stands, it looks like he's still gonna be playing when he's 50
  11. I get the feeling the two of them are going to play an equal number of games this year
  12. Meanwhile, on the other end of the Brady-Belichick debate...
  13. Not sure where he's seeing it but Ellis is saying the deal contains no guaranteed money.
  14. Word is they're letting center Austin Reiter hit free agency too. Working to try and keep Mike Remmers though (at right tackle).
  15. Jeff Howe confirming... @TheCasillas, good call. Also...
  16. Breer elaborates on the contract terms... According to Florio, Newton ended up earning about 3.7 million of that potential 7.5 million last season. Sounds like "worth up to 14 million" might be a more accurate description.
  17. Would you spend a top ten pick on a guy who's "somewhere in the middle"? Not to start another "should have lost the Washington game" conversation but we're really not in a great spot right now.
  18. There's been word that the Patriots are interested in Curtis Samuel.
  19. I wouldn't see it as a top priority (quarterback and offensive line take those spots) but it's valid to point out that the kind of offense we run looks a lot better when you've got a good third receiver.
