I'll be very interested to see who plays left guard too.

Signed off the Eagles practice squad just a few weeks ago. At the very least that means he's had solid coaching. Jeff Stoutland is widely considered the best OL coach in the NFL.

He doesn't have to "run the entire show". Influencing major decisions like top draft picks and top free agents is all that a typical "hands on owner" would really care about. He's not going to want to do the background on a fifth cornerback or a long snapper. That stuff is boring so it can be left to the coaches and the personnel people. But it's the major decisions, the stuff that galvanizes the fans, that will interest such an owner. And sadly, influencing those things is also all it would take to royally screw things up

I think this is the thing... He absolutely wants to succeed, but more than anything else, he wants to be seen as the reason behind the success. It might not necessarily be about the money so much as it is the prestige. That's why I think if Fitterer is indeed willing to let Tepper dictate major choices, that could be a reason he keeps the job. It's not a good reason, but it's a reason. It still might not be enough though. Tepper could decide to move on to someone else he thinks is better, but someone who will still allow him to either dictate or influence at least the top picks and free agents. In which case, nothing changes. It's impossible to know without being able to see what goes on behind the scenes, but we've seen hints of this from multiple sources. Also, reading the way Dianna Russini, for example, talks about team leadership as a monolithic entity makes me wonder. And again, if this is true, we're screwed for years to come.

From the article... Brewster coached the team's tight ends and joined the staff last December. He was also spent 2022 on Prime's staff at Jackson State. A coaching veteran of nearly four decades, Brewster has long been regarded as one of the top recruiters in the sport. He spent 1989-97 under Mack Brown at North Carolina, then joined him at Texas, where he changed the program forever by recruiting Vince Young out of Houston.

Every time I see that guy's name, I imagine what his childhood must have been like

To be clear, Maurice is not someone whose advice I'd seek on important decisions
-
No argument with that

Even if Harbaugh takes the job?

Offensive Schemes, Running Game & Blocking FYIs

Per reports, DJ Johnson was drafted because Evero wanted him. Why Nicole is involved...well, you know the answer to that one. -
Deion would never succeed in the pros, and he knows it. He's said as much.

You don't actually have to be completely impotent to get messed up. Even the most hands on owner probably isn't gonna involve himself in picking the fourth corner or fifth receiver. But they'll absolutely chime in on major decisions and starters. That's all it takes. And ultimately yeah, what does it matter how good any of your personnel people are if the owner is just gonna Dan Snyder the decisions? -
Hadn't seen anything on this. Sanders is injured?

The report from Stephen Holder was... concerning. -

We've had reports from behind the scenes. Quarterback decisions were Rhule. Long snapper, Hubbard and others were Rhule. He wouldn't make every single pick, though. Equally big deal in this case is that we changed coaches and systems, meaning that players who fit the prior staff might not work for the new one. That kind of turnover doesn't necessarily mean a draft pick is bad, just not a fit. -
Pretty much, yeah.
-
Yeah, can't do that in the NFL.
-
He could conceivably wind up on a Jim Harbaugh coached Bears team. That would likely be interesting.

For the record, big believer in Drake Maye. Fan of JJ McCarthy also.
