  1. One that doesn't use zone blocking. In his own blocking scheme, Ekwonu should be playing guard while a smaller, more athletic lineman plays tackle.
  2. You're not debating me. You're debating NFL history. I'm just citing them.
  3. Nice play be Chark. Hadn't said that much this season.
  4. I'm not citing my experience. I'm citing what's happened multiple times in league history. That's the difference between our arguments.
  5. Because what you're suggesting doesn't reflect the reality I've had this situation has happened multiple times. It only reflects what you would do.
  6. The person you're quoting is a troll, and not a particularly smart one.
  7. Troy Hill has been pretty good this year.
  8. Yeah, it ain't that simple And if you've followed the league for decades, how do you not know how many times this sort of story has played out?
  9. Fitterer's first two drafts we're under Rhule and the players from them were affected by a coaching change. This latest one is too new to be evaluated. That's why I say it's too soon.
  10. Sure, if you just want anybody who will take the job. If you actually want somebody good, you have to be able to present a good work environment. We don't.
  11. No, but I'm also not talking about hypotheticals. I'm talking about something that's happened many times. I'm also echoing the words of other people who have covered the league for years. Your only point of reference is what you would do, but you've never been in that situation.
  12. I'm not sure we're running that many of them, but it's also true that our receivers don't get much separation.
  13. You aren't an NFL coach. And this isn't a hypothetical. We've seen this scenario play out multiple times. The Raiders having to settle for Lane Kiffin is only one of many examples.
  14. His scrambles have actually been some of our best third down conversions this year. That's not really the way you want to do this though.
  15. Lady Cowboy Fan and I watched that last night too
  16. That pass to Smith-Marsetre is a typical WCO style play.
  17. You can't count on being rewarded for performing when your boss interferes in your ability to perform. The NFL isn't like a standard work environment, but even in those, someone who has a chance to make good money while not working for a sh-tty boss will take that over the alternative. It's also true that NFL coaches tend to be control freaks. Having a boss who interferes is a huge turnoff. If you're a young guy looking for your first opportunity, going to an environment like ours could ruin your future chances.
  18. Might have been an ill-timed timeout on Tennessee's part.
  19. The best candidates are going to have other options. And even if those options aren't offering as much money as Tepper, they'll still offer plenty, and a better opportunity. If you had a choice between a boss who was going to pay you more money but interfere in your ability to do your job vs another boss who was going to pay you good money but will let you do the job the way you want to, which do you take?
  20. That's a very real possibility. Fitterer wasn't even in the initial group of candidates. I know the guys I was most interested in either didn't make it or dropped out.
  21. Yeah, saw that on the replay. Left a wide open spot for a rusher to come straight through.
