It's a nice feeling, that being true going forward.

Hey Saints. Sorry we took the player you wanted.

I saw something yesterday where an insider knew that many teams had Payton Turner rated as a 4th rounder... -
Above all else, it has become apparent that Rhule values one thing over anything else: Rare Athletic ability If you look at the players drafted just in the first two rounds last year and round 1 this year: - Derrick Brown (for his size, strength, balance, and hands moreso than speed. I do believe this was more of a Hurney pick. I believe the rumor that Rhule wanted to move down and grab Kinlaw who was more athletically gifted). - Yetur Gross Matos - Jeremy Chinn - Jaycee Horn All of those guys are FREAK athletes. Those are the guys we can expect to pinpoint as targets for the rest of this draft and in every draft with Rhule at the helm going forward. He believes he can coach anyone. He just wants the guy he is coaching to have SOMETHING special to work with. So who else stands out in this regard for the draft this year?

Hmm. Me thinks Mayock ought to go back to the booth...

If Pitts is there he is the pick at #8

And I would dish poo to others that believe they have some revolutionary stance too, when in actuality, they don't. I don't care if he is a rookie or been here since the beginning, the point is true in all walks of life. Your voice only matters when you have something to say. Most people open their mouths before opening their minds. Then they get pissed off because not everyone is appreciating their words. Well, tough. He is posting in a forum about a professional football team. It's a hobby. He isn't being tarred and feathered in the streets or put on the evening news. If this affects his life more than a passing fancy, he has more problems than a poo on a post. -
True, but when you draft in the top 5 you typically look for a position that determines the outcomes of games. Tight ends rarely get that. Most of the greatest tight ends in history don't have a ring.

While I can appreciate a big brother-esque stance, the fact is that an entirely new thread was started to state on obvious point as if we were being bestowed with some rare or unique point of view that warranted its own attention. It didn't. And if he can't see that, it should be pointed out to him. It wasn't a direct attack, it was sarcastic ribbing. I do worse to my own family and friends. People are too damn sensitive. -

Hey guys, if Trevor Lawrence is there at 8, he will be the pick.- 15 replies

There are always exceptions, but I just see Collins' skillset and think he would be a problem for modern NFL offenses if he is able to play faster. At 270, he is more limited.
-
If I'm the Panthers and one of Sewell, Chase, or Pitts are there, I'm staying. There would be have to be a ransom that would put the one the Lions got for Stafford to shame for me to consider otherwise.
-
To me, Zach Wilson is Jay Cutler in the body of Jimmy Clausen. He would scare the hell out of me if I was drafting high enough to consider him.
-
The Zaven Collins weight is worrisome IMO. He is a phenomenal upright player and plays well in space. But he is officially being looked at as a tweener at 270. Normally, a tweener would be because of the in-between of size, but in his case he IS the size of a DE but he PLAYS like a linebacker. Maybe looking at Anthony Barr as a model to follow is the best way to figure out who he can be. Personally, I LOVE this kid as a player. I would love to draft him. But if the Panthers did take him, I would hope that they ask him to get down to 255 by training camp. His versatility is what makes him special and the heavier he is, the less versatile he becomes.

Panthers Free Agent Signings Thread
XClown1986 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
We don't need him to rack up sack totals. We have plenty of other guys that are going to do that. We need him to occupy blockers and plug running lanes. -
That's not a nightmare. You take Jamarr Chase in that scenario. Easy decision.

What weapons did they draft for Luck exactly. He had T.Y. Hilton and that's about it. They drafted two tight ends the same year they drafted Luck but they didn't draft a difference-maker for him at all when he was there.

Zach Wilson is boom or bust and should not be started year one

In other words, Jay Cutler 2.0 -
Speed will get you a shot but he is likely just camp fodder. Looks like at best he is a Philly Brown type. He has wheels but he really plays more like a possession receiver. Doesn't have the functional strength or elusiveness to create yards on his own.
-
Honestly, that's not bad
-
Well for one reason, you can't trade draft picks from more than 3 years out.
-
Moton would play left, Daryl would play right and we would be a power rushing first team with quick passes to our new speedy receivers.

With Mackenzie Alexander, Vonn Bell, and Kendall Fuller still on the board? Not to mention the onslaught of talent that somehow slipped? Yep- 95 replies
