Ruins any credibility he had as a "draft guru" for sure.
-
DT Malcom Brown was just cut by the Jaguars. We should look at him for depth.
-
Christensen, Ekwonu, Mays, Corbett, Moton. Would love to see more out of our rookie and year 2 guys.
-
Belichick was being too cocky by assuming he didn't need a true OC.
-
I don't truly believe Barno is a DE. I think he plays much better in space where his speed is an asset. He should be a LB imo.
-
Atlanta won't trade within the division, and even if they would, no to Jones. I would LOVE Roquan Smith. But I don't know what it would cost to get him.
-
WTF was Haynes doing here? He is either hurting or putting up a poor effort, because damn.
-
This is the way
-
Exactly. But he was putting in the work because he needed it and he knew it. It had nothing to do with leadership or showing initiative to the coaches. He knew he might have a chance if he worked more on certain things. So he did. Simply saying that some of these guys are going on the field first not because of what this shows the coaches but more so what it does for their chances because they put in the extra work and get better
-
You guys do understand that while the guys showing up early does show initiative, it isn't necessarily about that right? It's because these guys know that have to put in extra work to have a shot. Corral has a lot to learn. Getting on the field early gives him more time to fine tune smaller things so that when the team is out there, he doesnt have to worry about that stuff. So... Give it a rest. Does it show leadership and drive? Sure. Is that what it ALWAYS means? No. For those that have been here long enough, Jeremy Leman LB was always the first one on the field at camp when he signed as an undrafted free agent. And he stayed late. Everyday. He KNEW he was on the outside looking in. AND HE WAS CUT ANYWAY. So neither side of the argument is completely right.

How was that a wasted pick? Icky was still the best player on the board. AND he can compete for a starting position at LG or LT and instantly make the team better wherever he plays. That's hardly a waste.
-
The starting offensive line could look like this in week 1: Christensen - Icky - Bozeman - Corbett - Moton That, ladies and gents, looks pretty promising, even if Icky starts his career at guard.
-
I'm not sure why people are mad at this. Brady Christensen is the most athletic lineman we have. That's a fact. He also played well at LT last year when given the opportunity. That is also a fact. He has also had a full year in the NFL and been able to develop as needed to improve. He should be a starter. And the best combination of 5 OL is the best decision to make. What's the problem exactly?

The 49ers realized that they had Alex Smith and wanted to try for a Patrick Mahomes. Nothing wrong with an Alex Smith if the rest of your team is the 2000 Ravens or the 85 Bears. But they don't have that.
-
Rhule must trust in his "process" more than Fitterer does. More QB competition is a good thing. Sam Darnold is not threatened by a 3rd round rookie or PJ Walker. But a former number 1 pick that has seen some success in the league? Yeah, I think Sam would find himself actually fighting for his starting job.
-
Ekwonu may get looks at LG as well as LT. He could have a Quenton Nelson type of impact at G. His future is at left tackle, but it isn't unusual for incoming LTs to start at G first.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/06/13/carlos-dunlap-visiting-panthers/ Makes sense. Had a good year with the Seahawks last year.

If I were Brandon Smith, I would be in Luke's hip pocket all day.

If this doesn’t get you excited about Matt Corral, nothing will

He won the job in camp. Not in May. -

Right, we should name a 3rd round rookie the starter before he has ever participated a real NFL practice. That's not a recipe for disaster. Even if that is the goal, no one would gain anything by trying to do that right now. -

Are we comparing cocaine to Adderall now? Lol. Geez. -
Our DE position is thin. Amare Barno may be asked to contribute sooner rather than later. I don't think that we are a MLB away on defense. However, if I were Matt Rhule, I would seriously approach Sam Franklin about switching to MLB. Ask him to put on 15 pounds of good weight and get ready for camp. I think he can be a player there.

Not to mention Kenny Yeboah at TE. Plus his offensive line from 2020 to 2021 only saw one starter stay at the same position, his LT. They had his RG move to RT, his C move to RG, brought in a transfer C to start, and started a new LG. To say they were unsettled on the line is an understatement. His starting RT, Co-starting runningback, and top 2 receivers were picked up as undrafted free agents. Only Snoop Conner was drafted on offense other than Matt Corral, but one could argue that he very well could've gone undrafted as well. Corral definitely elevated his team.

Another tool in the arsenal that "Baby Hands" Pickett can't utilize. Corral has a very good pump fake.
