Paper move maybe, could be as some suggest they want to give him a game at AHL speed before they bring him back to the NHL level. Just to make sure his head is screwed on straight now. It doesn’t say which team though but he is listed on the Chicago wolves roster and they play today. If he gets the start I would not be surprised. It’s also the last AHL game before their break so it would all make sense. Get him a game before he ships back to Carolina for Tuesday.

Barbashev, Cogliono, Lehkonen, Savard. Those are your in-season trade who are of any note that played in the Stanley Cup/Playoffs and won the cup during the Covid cap era. None of whom were over 2.5 million dollars in cap space. None of whom were traded for an active roster player. Only one of who was traded for more than a prospect/mid round pick(1st, 3rd, 4th). Almost all(if not all) of those moves were predicated by injury.

In fact the only “big move” “Splash” to win a cup during the Covid cap era was David Savard in 2020-2021, the year Tampa bay cheated big on the cap. The rest of the trades were depth low pay players for prospects/picks.

Ya no. Why do we have to go over this every year? Big splashes don’t win cups. Every “big splash” was out by the end of the second round last year. In fact, the only two in-season trades last year of any note that made it to the Stanley Cup were Barbashev and Quick. Barbashev was an injury hole-plug rental(Blues cap casualty), who was traded for a single, yes one single, prospect. Quick was a goalie hole-plug rental, who didn’t even play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, sitting backup to Hill after Brossoit was injured. Florida couldn’t/didn’t even make an in-season trade. So no, big moves and splashes don’t win cups. Especially in this constrained Covid cap era(which hopefully is going bye-bye next year). Every team who won the cup since Tampa did it in the bubble has used the LTIR cap cheat.

Ya no. 1st, 4th and 3 players(including a 40 goal player last year) for a half season rental.

Ya, either the new coaches need to figure out how to use him properly or we need to figure out how to offload him.

And thus little reason he would be a trade block candidate. Offering consistency to a new coach is a good thing.

Not get rid of, I’d prefer to keep them. But like jayboogie said no if the price is right offers should be entertained. The two off limits to me are Hubbard and Luvu. Brown & Moton could fall into that category too.

Luvu and Hubbard are my two keeps on this roster. Anyone else I agree.
