I wouldn’t say 4 is useless, they are forechecking better than 1 and WAY better than 2. Decent backcheck, had the only goal last night but haven’t been generating many goals recently. For a team built around forechecking having your top two lines chasing the puck up and down the ice without controlling the neutral zone has really showed over the past half dozen games. It’s not good. Rod needs to drill fundamentals right now, skill will take care of the goals IF we focus on our game.

Practicing at noon. Idk if it’s a full practice or another optional but it better be a full.

Guenz - Aho - TT(Jarvis) Svech - Kuz - Jarvis(TT) Martinook - Staal - Fast Noesen - Drury - Necas KK Lemieux Best line combos for our guys play styles AND system nuff said. If we need a heavier 4th line then think about swapping in KK.

Disagree. Our 3rd line is forecheck… like all the lines should be doing nearly every single shift. No they don’t always provide goals. But they provide our much needed offensive pressure. 4 is decent at forechecking. 1-2 are more run and gun, neither line is setting up forechecks.

I don’t even attribute it to that. That was new player skill taking over “adrenaline” stuff, as Kuz adapts to our system you can tell him and Necas just aren’t clicking. Kuz is a methodical player and I think he’d do well with TT and TT would amply svech.

Like I said when we first picked him up, I just don’t see Necas and Kuz meshing well because of playstyles. I’d like to see Svech - Kuz - TT(actually Jarvis) and Drury + Necas somehow.

Sorry if this was already posted but I didn’t see anything related to it. It seems it’s a potential change and not voted on yet? Though Schefter seems convinced it’ll be a thing. I like it if for nothing else it’ll probably cause more turnover chaos.

First clinches of the season can occur tonight, Florida and Boston are in the same boat as us where the caps need to beat the redwings and they need to win their respective games(for an 8th clinch). Rags just need to beat Philly or have the redwings lose. We need as posted above basically a win and either a red wings loss(8th clinch) or win and Philly loss in regulation(3rd in metro clinch).

So this is more of a hypothetical until we know more tomorrow but in the coming couple weeks it’s may play a factor. We are currently carrying 14 forwards and 7 D. Obviously Lemieux and TDA are the “back-ups” If everyone is healthy tomorrow/this week, who sits and why?
