  1. @Zoddid you do some server upgrades what’s this new status symbol I’m seeing?
  2. so basically he’s just showing up to make the Texans pay him or drop him.
  3. First USA women's Olympic gold in Taekwondo. Was a pretty epic match.
  4. Again, it’s this is not the signal of a rebuild. None of these players on face value will be playing for this team in 1-4 seasons at least. The only ones I could see getting a shot at the roster this season or next are the two Fins we took in the second round. This isn’t the NFL where all these guys are looking at a roster spot this season. Our core is still completely intact. Minus the obvious dougie, Martinook, McGinn, Svech contracts this off-season. I bet we’ll see Jarvis make his debut too. Everyone is really high on him. That leaves us with only a few holes to plug. If Ned wasn’t traded nobody would be freaking out right now. All these players are to get them into our new AHL partner and start building for 3 years down the road when a lot of this cores contracts are up outside of Slavin. Aho is up in three as well as Rod. So we basically have three years to win a cup. Don is already planning out another young core for when that time comes. So it’s more pre-emptive than a rebuild. If Aho or Slavin wanted out. That’s when you call it a full blown rebuild panic time. Obviously if svech isn’t signed soon I’m gonna be annoyed. But he’s RFA with no arbitration so it’s only a matter of time, we just have to tender him.
  5. And the rookie of the year from finland(RW) little smaller, comparisons were drawn to ago.
  6. Didn’t see a thread anywhere so I figured this is probably the best spot to start one. So far China is pulling it in followed by the ROK.
  7. True that but even if you trade it for later capital, better to get a return on investment.
  8. Everything tells me we are going to go short term high value as soon as free agency drops.
  9. I worry most that he’s more of a dougie. The more offensive chance he gets the more he forgets his a defensemen. Couple that with the fact he was basically getting rag dolled on our boards defensively…
  10. This could be a very strong indicator of Dougie coming back too if we are willing to give bean up.
  11. Nah, it’s pretty obvious they felt ned was still a project and would probably be backing up whoever we bring in. Ned probably didn’t want to play backup. It’s not a rebuild unless you see Aho, Tro, Foegs, Slavin, staal, etc jumping ship. We a stupidly good core. My biggest worries is getting Svech resigned and bring Haakanpaa back. We get those two things done I’ll be happy with what ever direction we go. Though I’d like to see McGinn and Marty back too.
  12. Clearing would be cap space for big time imports this off-season. We are going cup or broke. To further I think the mentality is to forego developing players and surround our stupidly good base with fully developed talent. I think bean and Ned both deserved firsts though. If we could have loaded up on first and then gone win or die by the time that experiment is successful or not those first would be ready for NHL play. Im thinking Carolina thought bean was a lock in Seattle for sure, so they didn’t have him as part of the UFA scheme. I expect to see a flurry of action on the 28th/29th.
  13. He’s also 33 and lagging like you said though but I agree with the sentiment on face value.
  14. Bernier is a UFA as of the 28th. I’m assuming we are going to sign him for 1-1.5 or perhaps even let him walk if we get a better situation. I feel like we are going to target a moderately high priced goalie.
  15. I really would have liked to have seen him for an entire real season but I feel like there was more factors than just don/Tom/rod didn’t want to pay him.
  16. Another thing to consider is Detroit is only about 2 hours from Parma, Ohio. Not a plane ride or 8 hour drive from Raleigh, I would not be surprised if that factored into things as Ned seems like a pretty family oriented person.
  17. If I’m not mistaken he couldn’t take them to arbitration, only us. So if Waddell says he was asking for 5 here and wouldn’t budge it makes sense. His agent outplayed him it sounds like. Perhaps he didn’t want to be here anymore either for what ever reason. Counter point is it sounds like we were trying to get him for 2.5 and he said no. I bet we would have gone to three but his agent going full on arbitration did not sound like something Waddell wanted to negotiate at all.
  18. They went really young it looks like. Gonna be interesting to see how their season goes.
