Yet more Panthers talk from Albert Breer
Harbingers replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The mainstream seems to like Rhule… that bodes good things from the media front. -
Just put some wings on your burger. She won’t notice.
-
Ya I know it’s scary and not what I would think. But you got to look at the current management. Fitts has never prioritized rushers.
-
I don’t disagree but everything I’ve seen from our FO/coaching team so far. And make sure that “so far” is the quantifier. Is they would be willing to sacrifice the one big contract for 3-4 above average contracts. And don’t get me wrong I agree we pay burns even if he wants league best money. I’m just worried our GM/coach will test the market and posture different positions over him. Especially if he has a down year on the double up which it looks like what is going to happen. And he will end up pulling a Peppers, that’s why I really hope we can get one or two entrances to really keep him in “the program”.

I know you have your prejudice, but is this team going to be willing to pay him top figures at his position, because that’s what he’s going to control. If that’s what you think, no worries. We’ll see what fitts can come up with. But right now I see fitts as a much more moderately conservative GM. Especially with his time at Seattle he’s much more prone to break the bank on CB’s and get above average D-line.

I know you aren’t a hockey watcher but see the above post.
-
If we want to keep him here. That’s the kicker don’t cloud your judgement with Hurney, Rivera, Gettleman, Richardson era. If we know we can find 2 burns for the price of one. I’d like to keep him here but it’s gonna take a playoff run or two.
-
Do you not follow the coaching/GM trend? Burns may ask the world, I find Rhule and Fitts to be very RBA, if they do, they may let burns walk. They are both very team focused, if he doesn’t give at least the gesture of team focus I could see him being gone to Buffalo or Washington or beyond when his 5 years come due(most likely beyond). If there is one thing I like about our current regime they aren’t going to outpay. Ya it would suck and I know you don’t follow hockey but it’s like letting Dougie Hamilton walk instead of Hurneying ourself into a contract that detracts from the team. Yes, maybe he will take the moderate money cause our team is colliding with the superb owl. But the jury is still out.

We have enough cap space if we can get to the playoffs(or beyond) this year I think we can entice most of them to come back. Burns may be a cap casualty though. We’ll just have to wait and see how his and rhules agenda’s work out.

It sucks right, fugging refs?!
-
His two technique is impeccable.

He got lucky with having the WR there for leverage. The dude is solid though and should he rated far above what PFF says he is so far. I believe the Texans are going to have the most conservative game plans we’ve faced so far, everyone is gonna have two blockers assigned to them. We’ll see how it comes out. If we can continue shutting the run down, it’s game over. Even if we were playing mahomes or Seattle.

Nice! Ya, wish our game was on Sunday. Have a nice big pot Tonkotsu Gyokai(ramen) broth going for the weekend.
-
First road game, might have some travel cobwebs to shake off. But a third string QB to go up against? I think the D eats.
-
Bingo.

That textbook TD to Zylstra, which was obviously a designed played but still. Was magically perfect. Split the zone, Zylstra ran it perfect. Saints had nobody on him cause they didn’t think in a million years the ball would go his way. Darnold played the roll out perfect, looking like he was gonna run for the sticks to get the defense to bite up a bit. Not to mention perfect spiral back across his body(though it was probably half a foot too high) Props to both of them and Brady for that one. Honestly that was probably the best play off the game offensively. Just textbook perfect.

Ya this seems absurdly low, compared even to week one numbers if I’m remembering correctly. On paper we have the best DL in the game in damn near every category. I’ll take the football outsiders DVOA this week over this swill. I wish the guy who does https://moneypuck.com did an NFL breakdown too both for teams and players. That way we could rank them on every statistic category independently without having to have PFF “tell” us how good they are.

I’m really tempted to test out this wings technique but will probably save that for another Sunday game. As for tonight, it’s looking like a nice steak and big plate of veggies, maybe some chimichurri on the side too. Seems only fitting playing the Texas “steers”. https://norecipes.com/teriyaki-chicken-wings/

Same injury prone figure NFL wise, probably not developed enough in college talent wise either. If he ends up on a weak team he might tank his career real early. I can see the Clausen comparatives too. He just looks like the kind of QB if a IDL landed on him(like in week one) he’d walk out with a fistful of broken ribs. And obviously the cosmetic comparatives to both, but that was just jokes.

Like I said. Very concerning that he could be the next Manziel during the pre-draft. Except you know without drama/personal issues. Hopefully he can get his durability up, cause I did see twinges of a very decent QB when he played here with a few years of work.
