Right now it sounds like they will have to spend 3-5 weeks in a Chinese hospital quarantine unit if they test positive in China, even if they are asymptotic. Basically a month give or take, so if a guy tests positive near the end of the Olympics they still won’t be able to rejoin their team here until basically April. I highly doubt the NHL’ers are going to want to do that, so it sounds like we might get the scrub league this go round in the olympics. I’ve heard rumors/suggestions of doing a World Cup of Hockey this or next summer to make up for it if the players decide to opt out. But people are putting the chance very low that the NHLPA actually decides to do the Olympics. Even lower since covid has started to run rampant.

Mike Florio & Rich Eisen discuss Rhule & Tepper
Harbingers replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
The first thing he should have done was bring in a guy(or panel) of football guru’s he trusted to do a complete top down analysis of the team and cut all the fat. Now it looks like we’ll get that when Rhule is shown the door. So many of our issues could have been avoided. -

I’m all fine with coaches working within their tree. It’s only natural. But I think you are right, Rhule and Hurney were both gonna claim to be top dog. That doesn’t work with Rhules style and Tepper was still supporting at that point. Now we are to the point where something is going to have to break with the coaching staff. And Rhule isn’t going to put his guys on the chopping block. Tepper has to bring in a director of football operations/team president with complete control as the only way Rhule sticks around and sorry no, this football(soccer guy) isn’t it. -

Definitely Hurney himself. Continuity, take the time to learn the business, etc, etc. -
Edmonton has one player going onto the protocol and at least one coach in the past half hour as well.
-
Reports coming out a handful of Nashville Predators are entering the protocol as of half an hour ago. They are already postponed tonight for their game in Calgary, we are suppose to play them on Sunday.
-
He was on the sideline and around coaches players last game. Hopefully it’s contained. Even with the 100% vaccination the NHL and now apparently the NBA too are having a hell of a time.

The crazy part is everyone was held up yesterday in Vancouver because of delayed tests. The must have cleared to be allowed to fly back to the states. Now they test positive today? Where is the disconnect?
-
“In addition to Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis, who are currently in quarantine per the NHL's COVID protocols, four additional Hurricanes players have tested positive for the virus: Ian Cole, Steven Lorentz, Jordan Staal and Andrei Svechnikov.” Cole sounded a little sniffly on his presser earlier but nothing too bad.
-
And it’s official. The league said they will follow up about us tomorrow. I’m guessing we either are back to playing Sunday or Tuesday but who the fug knows at this point.
-
Rhule when the tape comes out.
-
All the blues fans are like WTF! You made us play with 15 players! But I think the league is probably expecting more positive tests from us at this point. That would be the determining factor there in my opinion. Nearly half the league has someone on the list right now. They should really just shut the league down until after Christmas.
-
Oof. 4? Really? Ouch. I’m guessing we are probably done until next Monday.
-
If the league pushes this game through tonight cause it’s a national broadcast it will be a huge black eye for a league that has been so cautious. Also the canes are working with the Canadian and American governments to do a medical emergency flight for Aho, Jarvis and the trainer.
-
The Canucks are going into the protocol in droves. Fugging thanks Calgary. The league may have to do an all stop on the Canadian side of things if this keeps up.
-
I doubt we play tonight. If it’s even 1-2 more the league would be crazy to put us on the ice.
-
He was hurt in Vancouver(or was it Edmonton?) but I figured since he’s young and it didn’t appear to be that bad he’d play through it. If he can’t go tonight things will be rough.
-
I mean he put the ball into the RB’s chest, in only a way someone the size of cam could. He’s the least at fault on this play. Had that been CMC he would have had the awareness to know what was going on. I agree with Ricky despite that huge hole Hubbard was not the main play there and thus was not expecting the handoff.
-
Ya, that is just absurd. Rhule is looking for any excuse to can Cam and get his guy in at QB. It was clear as day Cam got stepped on at that moment but Rhule seemed to either not notice or simply want to ignore that fact.
-
Fully agree, I think it was a fake hand off roll out with Cam option. Had that been CMC that wouldn’t have been an issue.
-
Ya why isn’t short term IR covering the cap hits for COVID so teams can field a full company. That’s ridiculous.

I have not seen anything from the N&O’s beat writers on Twitter since the announcement last night. 10 days is good news for the boys(to get back to Raleigh and spend time with the fams) but not the team as they will be out through Christmas either way. Luckily in a 10 day scenario we will have them back for Florida in Raleigh, which is a must win. If not we are looking at Montreal or even Columbus.

No word if the canes are doing a morning skate either. And this season at least I feel like we match up way better when we do a morning skate. But this whole covid test thing has completely fugged us and you know the NHL doesn’t want to cancel one of their premiere games.
