I’m just playing devils advocate. I could seem some potential from him but I think end the end we won’t. That said we do need to find Aho a feed man though.

In 90% of todays hockey clubs yes he’s terrible. But I think given a fair shake he might be able to come out of a camp as a team player. He obviously to this point can’t grasp how we play, which is a hell of a lot different than how Edmonton plays. I think a camp in which he can reset his brain would elevate his game. He’s shown glimpses of it in Edmonton. He’s also shown he has the work ethic. Getting him on a minimum bridge contract in a new year and build on relationships with our players he might start producing and if he doesn’t he’s on a minimum bridge anyways.

I want to see him once he gets a full camp under his belt, it’s obvious he struggled understanding our system when being thrown into it, he had a really good year in Edmonton before this season so there is potential for him to be a solid 4th. Unfortunately he’s RFA and I don’t think we should go out of our way to sign him but if nobody else does and we can bring him back on a bridge minimum deal I don’t think that’s a problem.

Agree on everything but Fasty. We are going to have to overpay fast and we should begin bracing for it now.

We shouldn’t be giving up any first rounders this draft, most of the hockey folks I listen to say it’s the deepest first round in a very long time.

I will say that’s one of the best handshake lines I’ve seen in a long time. There is no love lost, but a ton of love given between these two teams. (Chunky and little chucky excluded). Even Lomberg surprised me.

Aho isn’t ready for the C. He’s too emotional. There’s a lot behind the scenes that goes into the C we don’t see but it should be made clear it’s coming. If we could get both goalies back on a 1 year deal I’d be ecstatic. I don’t think it will realistically happen though.

I will say we faced adversity head on. We fought the battle our way to the end. It was a good run and for those saying we wouldn’t even make it out the of first or second round. Our boys proved you wrong. We hit a wall, and that wall wasn’t even the panthers. We hit ourselves in the nuts. Pick up the pieces. Do what we have to do. And under no circumstance do not, not resign Fasty. Nobody. I mean nobody works harder on this team than he does. Even if it means overpaying. We won’t be able to get his production from 99.999999999999999999999999999999 percent of the players that would be brought in or promoted in his stead. The dude grinds night after night after night for 82+ games. Season after season after season and hasn’t once made a single complaint.

Agreed. The only thing I will say is we need to use our depth better when someone goes down next year around the same time. It’s inevitable. Especially with it potentially being rods last year as coach, a number of key core players last year here. I know people want to be down on our guys and claim they won’t get anything in a trade, etc but that’s just the cloudy, we have one of if not the deepest roster in the NHL currently year after year. And they will be in high demand and will pull big fuging money elsewhere, IF they so choose. Which leads to me Waddell. I’m on the fence on him. I love how he structures and builds contracts. He gets a lot of hate for not making big splashes but that’s not for lack of trying, and he will not give away the farm for that big splash, which I love. But either him or Daniel’s needs to go. We need a change to give Rod every advantage in possibly his last year here. I don’t want the farm to be sold, but we should probably mortgage it.

No. This team has consistently made the playoffs despite adversity’s every single year. We just need to retool a few lines. Namely 4. I don’t want to see a Stepan(vet) stas(vet)/ flavor of the day line again. Not knocking Stepan or Stas, I think they are excellent players for what they are worth now. But we need a fast physical young 4th line. We have too much good talent down in the AHL/KHL/etc to not bring them up and let them get a full training camp/season under their belt. I want us to let Pono anchor and control that line. Drury/Pono/?

Actually after extensively rewatching it I don’t think that should be called clean(it currently is now) Bennett definitely was targeting head to head contact even though his shoulder went through the body. He was willing to risk himself just to take Slavin out.

Also agreed. I almost started to like PK at the desk during the regular season. He sucked during the playoffs. But this, this is fuging disgusting. You want to post it up and explain why it’s a clean hit. Ok totally fine, it’s textbook and a good teaching moment for younger generations on why keeping your head up even when you are exhausted is important. But to say a player got sent into next week, when he clearly had major head trauma is just below most people. Also the Florida crowd cheering when he fell again was absolutely disgusting. The crowds these games have just been absolute garbage. Toronto and Texas throwing poo on the ice. Florida cheering slavin’s injury. Florida throwing rats, which 20 years ago the NHL said would draw a major fine/penalty/disqualification.

I have no horse in this race or team I’d like to see win. I was going to watch just to see Vegas stomp chuckys face in but after that no call, I’m done. Teams over the years that I’ve rooted or would be willing to cheer for in a cup. Canes > Vancouver > Philly(I dunno why cause when we play them I hate them but I think the fact they mashed Washington’s face in during the playoff series a decade ago…) > Colorado(more so the Colorado of the 90’s/Early 2000’s I don’t like this current team) > Red Wings > Seattle(gotta love that uni)

Glad Slavin said he’s ok. The fact he was allowed to talk to media surprises me that he didn’t come back out. I guess they just wanted to be ultra sure he doesn’t have lingering concussions symptoms. I don’t think he was concussed. He seemed to know where he was and what he was doing, his body just seemed to give out.

Disagree. If we have svech we blank Florida instead. What we need to do is stop going for the old vets on 4 and make it younger faster line. We need to give Aho a feed man, whether it be TT or somebody else. It really frustrates me that our top line was so god damn out of sync for the last 3 games of this series. Aho‘s line mates just not able to keep up and on the same level as him. Maybe they will come with a little more experience for Jarvy. I dunno. Also for the record TT yet again proved he is one of the most finesse shots on this team… when he actually shoots the puck. I frankly think this series was on rod more than the players. He didn’t give them a chance to play aggressive offense, he kept them too worried about the defensive part of our game. We need to move on from Jeff Daniel’s, sorry I know you like your guys rod but he’s one of the biggest reasons we haven’t made it to the SC so far in your tenure.
