Don’t think so. I think we are going Great Wall of Gondor on D.
-
Pono. It better be Pono. Noesen should be 3 when Marty man isn’t up. Pono should be a 4C switch.
-
7D. That way we can rotate our 6.

Viking article predicting big drop off for Thielen

The dude could have 200 for 2,000 yards this year and the facts you mentioned would change. He’s not here to be a super star. He’s here to work in the scheme provided and I think he, if he’s grown up a bit, will do just that. -

Wouldn’t be surprised but this is just pure garbage. -
Because this FA was completely garbage. There was literally maybe 2 forwards worth the money they were getting paid
-
I think he’s going to be 2 and per game we either put TT with Aho or drop him to 4.
-
This is why I don’t think bunting will be a permanent fixture on 3. It’s gotta be either 2 or 4. Probably 2.
-
At the trade deadline, sure. Now? No. 30 goal guys don’t work as 30 goal guys on our team.
-
Really? Capfriendly is still counting him as LTIR. I wish the NFL, NHL, etc would actually have a public facing cap tracker.
-
Remember svech is 7.5 that’s not being counted right now. Even if we move both our 2D we still wouldn’t have enough to cover at the rate I said above.
-
We don’t need a 5-7 million player to cover him though.
-
On the forward front we could use a merc to cover further until svech is back. But we could get that with some prospects or picks at this point.
-
I’m still worried Orlov is going to need 6 month surgery or some poo knowing Don at this point. On the forward front I think we brought bunting in to cover the gap until svech gets back while allowing Pono to get some reps.
-
His mean streak worries me. Also his laziness according to Toronto folks. The last thing we need is another TT, not that TT is bad, but I think you know what I mean.
-
This year is a poo market for forwards even on trades. Get to the deadline, wheel and deal there. Wanna bump someone so it then.
-
Meh, fug more forwards right now! Let’s roll with D.
-
You forget this is Rod. fug ya he’ll let Orlov play 3 and people will be fuging dying because of it, but more importantly we will have the Great Wall of Gondor as our defense. I’m sticking with that!
-
Let them keep him. Enough of this poo. We paid 7.5 for Orlov. What do you think the best defensive defensemen is going to ask if we have a 7.5 and an 11.5(even with retained salary) on the books when his time comes? If he goes FA he may just become the most paid player in NHL history.
-
I think we are good. Keep 2 get TDA as 7 and ball out as the
-
Cool. Let them cut him then and pick him up NFL style.
-
Honestly though, we need to win the cup. Don needs to ride off into the sunset and rod needs a 5 year deal.
-
This. This poo is why the NHL is fuging assholes for making the players pay back the Covid seasons and not raising the cap. Even about 2-3 million more and we could secure our assets no problem.
-
No we have just enough to get TDA. Which means going to the well again. Which I think we should. Get Pono up on four. It’s time. Our well is so fuging deep we need to start utilizing it early season to get these kids experience.
-
Which begs the question do we put him 2-3 or 4? I’d play him 4 with Noesen and Drury/Pono and make our 4 line a lethal threat we haven’t had in a long time. Let Marty man, Staal and Fasty play the de facto shut down and pick up a forward at the deadline. Screw moving the second line. Put Orlov with chatty on three and play more balanced minutes. We can have a lot more balance and rotation like that. Bring TDA back as the 7D and we can push Orlov up as people get banged up. Honestly, in my opinion this whole situation looks negatively on Don. This may be rods last year as coach here. Let him get it done with his guys with a few additions. Of course this is all said with the knowledge rod has no issues shaking lines up that start to streak.
