  1. I think we are trying to open up every option we have right now. Hold on to your butts.
  2. This move also frees up about 4M in cap space.
  3. One spot will probably be Freddie if he’s starting tonight, though that’s far from being confirmed though he did have the starter net yesterday. That leaves us with 2. That also tells me nobody was buying TDA.
  4. Movements starting to pick back up.
  5. No way in hell I’d give up FUS. I truly think we could fit him on the 4th line next season with Pono.
  6. Edmondson to Toronto. Beauvillier to Nashville.
  7. No morning skate(which I’m not a fan of, we play better off a morning skate recently), but who knows who gets the net. With Raanta being activated yesterday that puts us back at 23/23, though Freddie got the starters net.
  8. If we want to go “all in” I’d go for Buch and Vatrano. Issue with Vatrano or Zegres for that matter is the ducks have filled their allotment of retention so any deal for them would be at full price without a partner. I just don’t like what I’m hearing out of the Guentzel market, as cool as it would be to have him here for the run, floated about what Vancouver offered which is massive. Hoglander, 2x prospect and a first is the highest rumor I saw so far.
  9. Also we have to think, we only have 5 forwards and 3 blue liners signed next year. I’m not counting Staal because honestly if we win a cup I think he may retire, if we don’t I’m still not sure he’s gonna finish this contract though he’d probably stay around for 1 more year. Now is the perfect time to slot it in Pono and someone like FUS.
  10. Ya. We all know you are willing to mortgage the farm for a 2 month rental. The issue that you aren’t really accounting for is 5 out of 7 of those guys won’t see nhl ice for a few years. Outside of Pono and maybe FUS(who I could see jumping the AHL from what we saw this pre-season), even Perets needs AHL time. They will become our core over time. We have plenty of other good prospects that are serviceable for a 2 month INJURED and Injury prone rental who will need time adjusting to our system. Not our high end prospects. Thats why I’d prefer Buch who I think we can get for a much more reasonable price and he’s got a year left on his contract.
  11. Which prospect“s”… Niki, Pono, FUS, Nadeau, Morrow and Perets should be off the list in that order. But I have a feeling one or more of them wouldn’t be. I’d also consider Vondros on the NTL too.
  12. Looks like no further moves overnight.
  13. Don’t know who’s retaining if any.
  14. Good roundup list of the rest of the trade bait.
  15. Right now I think it goes from active rumors Top Tier: Guentzel/Buch - 1st + high tier prospects or active players Next up: Toffoli - probably just a first maybe a mid tier prospect Plan-B’s:Vatrano/Duclair - picks.
  16. Frankly I’m not sure I want to stay in on this deal from what Im reading. Pittsburg wants under contract for a few years prices for a 2 month rental no matter how good he is. Especially considering it’s being reported he doesn’t want to talk contract extensions and is preferring to wait until July. Buchnevich might be a more reasonable option especially with the blues saying they’d consider retaining some.
  17. On top of that they are trying to(got already) a 3rd team to retain 75% of Hanifins cap. Which means they probably are still in the field.
  18. Vegas cheesing the cap again. Hanafin to Vegas. Calgary is really selling.
  19. And we activated Raanta for what ever reason? Maybe can’t do any kind of movement from IR? Not sure.
  20. Rags picked up Wennberg from Seattle.
  21. Dunno about Pesce but we are openly shopping TDA with no takers so far. Even if we retain 50% which was our latest offer for a 5th round. I find it hard to believe we’d be shopping both. Could be the asks for Pesce are too high. Personally, I don’t like moving either right now. I get that TDA wants to play every night but having him is a really nice cushion for the remainder of the season.
  22. I think he will bounce back. I think he’s just putting too much emphasis on defense, which he is very good at if you haven’t noticed, he will find a balance point.
  23. His salary does not fit his play. That said I don’t think he’s going to be as bad as people are believing this season.
