  1. We skated real sloppy and kept getting in each others way. They got a little extra physical and we didn't adjust. One of our biggest weaknesses. I know were going to be nursing more than one injury coming off last night too. Aho took at least 3 sticks to the face, Slavin took a shot to the face. McGinn and Necas were boarded. Reimer looked like he was struggling with something later in the game, He was hunched over more than usual, and those are just the ones I noticed. TT already down too, I think its worse than they are letting on. I like Beans fire but he didn't look pro last night either and was a puck hog at times when he didn't really have a shot. Probably time to get Gardiner back in there. Hopefully on the bright side this is the jump start Fast needed to start producing.
  2. Ya that last goal was a fugger. We had steam and they slipped in right behind us so to speak.
  3. Fug McGinn shoulder went straight into the boards. Slavin took a puck to the face. The refs missed another high stick to Aho's face.
  4. Oof. Brady scoring for them there. Reimer should have glove covered though.
  5. Ok they tripped us at least 3 times so far in that offensive zone flurry.
  6. We need a spark to get our guys rolling. Little payback for that hit on Necas earlier would be good.
  7. Oof. They are going heavy stick side and its working now.
  8. Bean is hungry for a goal. Its good to see but def should be trying to open them up some more.
  9. Fug we gotta step it up and settle it down. Poor puck control this game so far.
  10. Oh man Tampa Bay is playing hard. Glad we got one there. Good on ya Fast!
  11. Holy poo Reimer is like bungy. He's been stretched every direction all game.
  12. I mean if we can put an OL in front of him and have brady update his schemes. its more of a boost in my eyes using all our picks to start filling out the roster this year than crippling ourselves for 3-4 years to come. If we suck ass than go for Howell next year and we can cut teddy without cap issues. If we do good but not great then find your trade QB now that you know all the pieces around them are in place and they won't get killed one way or another.
  13. True but they were hawking him on the behind the net stuff pretty good last game. Half a step more and they would have gotten a couple on an empty net. Think its good to keep them guessing this series.
  14. Interesting, One week in the AHL? Wonder if we are making another roster move?
  15. The Carolina Hurricanes close out a five-game homestand with their second of four straight match-ups against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Match-Up Tampa Bay Lightning (10-4-1, 21 points) vs. Carolina Hurricanes (12-3-1, 25 points) Monday, Feb. 22, 7 p.m. Watch: FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports GO Listen: 99.9 FM The Fan, Hurricanes.com/Listen, Hurricanes app Numbers to Know 12-3-1: At 12-3-1 (25 points), the Canes have matched the franchise-best start through 16 games. You can probably guess which season it was (2005-06), and we all know how that season ended. 16: Three players - Trocheck, Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho - are tied for the team lead in points. All three players found the scoresheet on Saturday, and Svechnikov (1g, 1a) and Aho (1g, 1a) had multi-point performances. 2: The Lightning were not shut out once during their 70-game 2019-20 regular season and their 25-game run to the Stanley Cup. They've already been shut out twice in 15 games this season, both by the Canes. 1: Teuvo Teravainen missed Saturday's game with an upper-body injury. After the game, Brind'Amour provided this update on Teravainen's injury: "I'm hoping it's not going to be too long, but it's going to be a couple games for sure." https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/gameday-preview-tampa-bay-lightning-carolina-hurricanes/c-321666454 https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/projected-lineup-tampa-bay-lightning-carolina-hurricanes/c-321673768 Forwards Svechnikov-Aho-McGinn Niederreiter-Trocheck-Necas Foegele-Staal-Fast Paquette-Lorentz-Martinook Defensemen Slavin-Hamilton Skjei-Pesce Fleury-Bean Goalies Reimer Nedeljkovic Scratch: Gardiner Injuries: Mrazek (right thumb), Teravainen (upper body) Same as Saturday besides the switch-up at goalie.
  16. Gotcha, Wasn't sure if teams were even paying running backs 8+ 10 years ago.
