Pure luck. Fortunately Fast was in perfect position if we didn’t get the bounce.
-
And I thought the refs weren’t going to call a penalty on Chicago all night. I guess that one was too egregiously.
-
That and Ned looks pedestrian right now. They are shutting down our blue line. Gotta fix that up.
-
Oh come on 2 line D. That’s two on you now.
-
Come on Ned close that short side down.
-
Fug Dougie.
-
Can you please keep the puck in the rink Chicago? Plzkthx.
-
Holy poo the national announcers are just gushing about Carolina. You can tell they’ve been chomping at the bit to call one of our games.
-
So good to see tro back on the ice.

FYI for those in the streaming world I'm pretty sure you can stream both games for free through the Peacock app's NBCSN channel. Not positive though.

Marty Necas: NHL Star of the Week... Again
Harbingers replied to Anybodyhome's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
"Martin Necas joins NHL Tonight - Martin Necas talks about being the 2nd star of the week and feeling more comfortable with his game in his 2nd season" https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/video/martin-necas-joins-nhl-tonight/t-277437094/c-7935036 -
"CHICAGO - The Carolina Hurricanes are back on the road for a nationally televised two-game set against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Match-Up Carolina Hurricanes (23-7-3, 49 points) at Chicago Blackhawks (16-15-5, 37 points) Tuesday, March 30, 7:30 p.m. Watch: NBCSN Listen: 99.9 FM The Fan, Hurricanes.com/Listen, Hurricanes app The Opposition Last five games: 2-3-0, 4 points At home: 9-6-2, 20 points CAR vs. CHI: 2-1-0 Leading scorer: Patrick Kane, 48 points (13g, 35a) in 36 games This two-game series against the Canes marks the latter third of a six-game homestand for the Blackhawks. After sweeping a two-game set against the Florida Panthers, Chicago then dropped back-to-back games against the Nashville Predators. Alex DeBrincat scored two goals in a 1:50 span early in the third to tie the game at two on Sunday, but Roman Josi's tally in the back half of the period was the difference. The Blackhawks, who are 3-7-0 in their last 10 games, now find themselves just on the outside of the playoff cut line in the Central Division. "They're definitely an interesting team," head coach Rod Brind'Amour said after practice on Monday. "They give you some chances, but they get a lot of chances. It can be a dangerous mix." https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/gameday-preview-carolina-hurricanes-chicago-blackhawks/c-323045668 https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/projected-lineup-carolina-hurricanes-chicago-blackhawks/c-323071546 CHICAGO - The Carolina Hurricanes could potentially plug Vincent Trocheck back into their lineup when they face off against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night. Trocheck, who has missed the last eight games with an upper-body injury, was actively involved in practice on Monday and is a game-time decision tonight, according to head coach Rod Brind'Amour. "We're hoping [he] can play," Brind'Amour said. "He's a possibility." If Trocheck can indeed draw back in, here is the projected lineup for the Hurricanes based on lines used in practice on Monday. Forwards Niederreiter-Aho-Necas Svechnikov-Trocheck-Fast McGinn-Staal-Foegele Paquette-Lorentz-Martinook Defensemen Slavin-Hamilton Skjei-Pesce Fleury-Bean Goalies Nedeljkovic Reimer Injuries: Mrazek (right thumb), Teravainen (concussion symptoms; injured reserve) Taxi squad: Gardiner, Geekie, Keane, McCormick, Warm Ugh the suspense. Will he? Will he not? Ned back in net. Caught some of Chicago and Nashville’s last game. Chicago was pretty solid despite losing, Nashville simply out played them. Also our last game against them that we won 5-3 is when TT took that bad hit and subsequent concussion. I expect things to get a little chippy tonight but more so Thursday. https://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2021/03/29/sidney-crosby-pittsburgh-penguins-host-mathew-barzal-new-york-islanders-tonight-at-7-p-m-et-on-nbcsn-highlighting-nbc-sports-eight-nhl-games-this-week/ Also our first of three nationally televised, so far, I suspect our TB remaining twofer may be sent national if the league can contractually do it. Tonight on the call is John Walton & Pierre McGuire. Thursday's match up is John Forslund & Pierre McGuire.

Lightning @ Hurricanes 3/27 Game 6 of 8
Harbingers replied to Harbingers's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
"Aaron Ekblad will be out 12 weeks for the Florida Panthers after the defenseman had surgery Monday on a fracture in his left leg. "Overwhelmed by the love and support of my family and teammates, my peers and the Florida Panthers fan base and organization," Ekblad said in a post on Twitter. "I appreciate each and every one of you. "Thank you Dallas Stars for everything last night. I'm so grateful for your help. To everyone who has reached out, I see you. Thank you!"" That is way lucky considering how bad it looked. -
Man I really hope Tro is cleared for tonight.

Marty Necas: NHL Star of the Week... Again
Harbingers replied to Anybodyhome's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/martin-necas-breakout-week-garners-more-nhl-recognition/c-323034878 Great breakdown of his last week with GIFs! "What Have We Learned? As Aho noted, the Canes aren't exactly learning anything they didn't already know, but it sure is fun to watch breakout performance after breakout performance from a star in the making. Whether he's using his speed to find open ice, his stickwork to find an open teammate or his underrated shot to scorch a puck past a goaltender, it's clear that Necas possesses elite offensive talents that are now being showcased in the best league in the world. "He's blossoming and maturing. The talent has always been there, and then you figure out how to play," head coach Rod Brind'Amour said. "You're starting to see all that come together."" -

I do like the lines as well. Though third line production does concern me a bit. Foegele and McGinn especially have slumped since earlier in the season. I’d almost switch Nino and Svech for a bit with Tro coming back off an injury and nino + tro’s previous play but saving a first like that may be a playoff thing. -

That is a hell of a gamble for sure. This draft is going to be an interesting one for sure.

If true who were they so concerned about taking their guy before them they had to go all the way up to 3 to do it? Atlanta? Us?
