  1. I have to agree with rod. These icings non icings have been head scratchers.
  2. It’s time for new commissioners in every sport and perhaps a little DOJ pressure honestly. The inconsistency in sports is mind numbing at this point. Look at the GB TB game last playoffs.
  3. That’s twice now our defense has been called on blatant non calls.
  4. Except the Avs who I believe is the youngest team in the league, they were looking good last year, this year they’re on a whole nother level.
  5. "TAMPA - After dropping the first two games of their Second Round series at home, the Carolina Hurricanes come to Tampa in desperate search of a win against the Lightning. Game 3 (1) Carolina Hurricanes at (3) Tampa Bay Lightning Tampa Bay leads series 2-0 Thursday, June 3, 8 p.m. Watch: USA Listen: 99.9 FM The Fan, Hurricanes.com/Listen, Hurricanes app Tracking the Storylines Facing a Deficit: This marks the ninth time in franchise history that the Canes are facing a 2-0 deficit in a best-of-seven playoff series. The team is 2-6 all-time, winning first round series against Montreal in 2006 and Washington in 2019. The Canes lost the first two games of a playoff series at home just one another time in franchise history: that Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series against Montreal, after which the Canes rallied to win four straight games en route to capturing the Stanley Cup. Trocheck Uncertain: Vincent Trocheck was evaluated on Wednesday after leaving Game 2 late in the second period. Though he returned for a shift in the third period, Trocheck again departed the game, and Rod Brind'Amour did not have an update on his status for Game 3. Trocheck traveled with the Canes to Florida." https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/game-3-preview-carolina-hurricanes-tampa-bay-lightning/c-325146382 https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/game-3-projected-lineup-carolina-hurricanes-tampa-bay-lightning/c-325162982 "Here is the projected lineup for the Hurricanes. Forwards Svechnikov-Aho-Teravainen Foegele-Staal-Necas McGinn-Martinook-Fast Paquette-Lorentz-Geekie Defensemen Slavin-Hamilton Skjei-Pesce Bean-Hakanpaa Goalies Mrazek Nedeljkovic Injury: Niederreiter (upper body), Trocheck (lower body) Scratches: Bibeau, Gardiner, Keane, Lajoie, McCormick, McKeown, Reimer, Ryan, Shore, Suzuki" Gamble time. Score first and lay one of them out. Not much else to say. Go get the W boys.
  6. Tro not in a walking boot and does not appear hampered.(unless stock footage, no pun intended, but i doubt cause Aho has facial hair.)
  7. Not this year. We still have a lot of young raw talent. Even more so than last year really. If we are top 10 in any category(including sacks which really is the most likely) I'll be shocked.
  8. I mean honestly Kucherov hasn’t done much besides being a presence we have to account for. He’s had what? 1 assist and two rush chances on the forecheck? Tampa is completely happy to sit back play defense and let Vas freeze every puck. They know they’ll get 1-2 on a few chances and Vas will do the rest. We need to flip the script on them. I mean frankly there is no way they should have won last night besides Vas. If we can get 1-2 past Vas early, by any means necessary, Tampa is going to crumble. We need to provoke them physically and get them out of position. Even if that means taking the penalty kill early. Finally, Aho, Necas and others have got to find the net. They left 3 goals on the table between the two of them yesterday(yes Vas should have been called for one of them yesterday). We left 4 goals on the table in game one with post shots as well. We haven’t gotten any lucky bounces, but also Tampa’s entire game like I said is to disrupt our rebounds and passing lanes. We have to realize they are just going to be throwing their sticks around in the middle when ever we are on the forecheck and pressuring us behind the goal. Two things that really fug us up. Also we are playing one high because they are trying to slip a guy in behind our defense every single forecheck. That’s really throwing us off. I expect them to go full offense this game at home with the last change, to fug us up even more. That’s why I think throwing all the rooks on the ice to create chances is the right move here. Geekie and McCormick both want to prove they deserve to be on a roster, they can bring that young energy that might bail us out of this mess. Let Dougie and Slavin cover their asses. Score first -> pick a fight(doesn’t have to be punches but lay somebody out) -> Score again -> then play Tampa’s game against them.
  9. I'd feel a lot better with tro and nino though. Honestly though i think its time to gamble and put Geekie, Mccormick and Lorentz back together. Let Marty center svech+necas and move Fast back to the Staal line. Paquette has done nothing for me this series. I mean Ned has been good up to this point but I feel like change is worth the risk right now, instead of in game 4, I think it’s time to put Mrazek in too.
  10. They know what they have to do to get back in this thing.
  11. I think we'll see a different canes team in tampa. We may be down but we aren't out.
