If we got Aho done this year we could have done both Pesce and skjei next year with the extra. And we don’t have to retrain two-three-four new players who might struggle at man. And knowing Waddell he’s going to end up overpaying too, instead of players we already have that we could keep cheaper longer and gain more trade value.

I don’t want to move either Pesce or Skjei. People are down on them but their defense is ungodly most nights. We don’t need an offensive D line cause that’s all we could get. People also forget we play man defense. Too many new people too it are going to cause major issues.

Svech already has knee issues, dating back to when chara slew foot him in that rut. We don’t need him going out there before he’s ready and tearing another one. If I had my way we wouldn’t play him until the playoffs. But the dude loves hockey too much for that to happen.

I think we are good. Bring Pono up until svech is back. Let bunting wing for Aho like he did for Matthews until svech is back and then drop him to 2 to allow him to become more of a threat than a feed man. If we need anything on offense it’s a young aggressive 4th liner to pair. I’m tired of this ‘ol man 4th line stuff we run. Marty should stay on 3 and Noesen should be QBing to youngin’s on 4.

Most teams aren’t the devils though. They aren’t going to give up big stuff to get a one year away from UFA player who most certainly is going to require big bucks. If there were Pesce would have been moved before FA began. Though I read one article that said Pesce has 15 teams on NTC, but capfriendly doesn’t have him listed as NTC so dunno. If that’s the case maybe that’s why they are shifting to the lefties(aka skjei) but Skjei does have NTC listed. What I want to know is how don is going to get Aho done with 1.5M in cap space.
