Basically the same boat as Burns but you can’t “tag” in hockey so he gets a qualifying offer. If any other teams wants to pay higher they can and you either have to match or not. But the situation is nearly the same. If I was the panthers and burns doesn’t play I’d find the first team willing to give up a first and a few roster pieces we need this year and be done with him.

They have what, 8 people that are going to account for 70% of their cap next year. Without even counting Bosa? Add bosa and without any movement you basically got a 9 player team.

I agree. But Russell’s head is so far up his own ass, in this situation that comment was warranted. It’s even more interesting Russell wanted Payton as a coach to further his brand and Payton was said(at least publicly) “nope! I’m here to coach football.” Denver is going to be a very interesting plot line this year.

This. This is the mark of a good coach. Trust always comes first. You can’t have discipline without trust.

I’m in that boat. I just want to see us win some close games, make progress. Enjoy watching and hoping our defense isn’t going to be as ass as I think it’s going to be this season. And that’s not offense to our new DC, I just don’t think we have the pieces to execute this year. And yes from everything I’ve heard about Bryce I think his nickname should be Cerebro.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I couldn’t get on board with Rhule from the get go. You can’t bring a premade “brand” to a team. Yes you can bring your coaching style, your play style and all that. That comes with the territory. But a team(and by team I mean the current iteration of players, coaches, etc.) identity/brand has to be found by the team during its progression.

Stop making me actually look forward to Sunday! Damn I’m about ready for some football.

So ya, most of it had Rhules finger prints all over it. Fitterer kind of feels like a pushover though we’ll see what kind of moves come down the pipeline this year as it progresses. Specifically how our other draft picks perform. It’s hard to GM a college coach used to having everything his way.

Not really. We could always trade Burns during the season to a contender that needs a pass rusher for decent value. Probably not two first rounds but still decent.
