I really don’t get what Rod/Tim are doing I somewhat get it with Pesce back now but from before. Every time they pair Orlov and Skjei for a game orlov made progress and looked a lot more settled. Then they would immediately go back to orlov and TDA. Even though it’s obviously our weakest pairing. Then we lose, then they would go back to Orlov Skjei… makes no sense to me.

They are too similar in play style I think. They both are kinda that long reach but 50/50 offensive guy.

As I said above I’d rather Orlov - Slavin Skjei - Pesce Burns - Chatty/TDA… preferably chatty. But I agree we gotta try something at this point. Even if it’s splitting one of the longest tenured defensive pairings in the NHL.

Honestly I’d rather split Burns and Slavin. It’s not a permanent solution, IE: a full season thing burns should do, but it’s a jump start.

We need to give halak a shot. Pytor isn’t a 1A. Raanta is obviously injured. Freddie is the king of injuries(though I get this is far far bigger than a hockey thing and I hope it’s not the end for him but usually blood thinners, as others have pointed out, usually mean the end of a contact sports career). I wouldn’t fug with the defense. Though honestly I’d think about jumbling the lines. Orlov cannot be left on an island.. Slavin, Skjei and Pesce can. If our PP isn’t producing TDA needs to be gone. Id pull Drury and put Lameiux in or fug it. Try Pono or Suzuki.

Which is an issue of our forwards. Man system 5/5 guys have to be going full speed defense 100% of the time.

Burnsie will play despite missing practice. Might have had a personal thing. Chatty is odd man out.

Really thought this one was offsides in real time. Skjei having that puck flying in front of him saved burns.

Drury knew it too. He went to check on pytor last. Not that it was his fault but still scary.

Fug Drury might have concussed pytor…. shoulder to head… we’ll have to see if he has any ill effects later on.
