No matter what we feel or think about the coaches. It has been since 2017 that we had 8 wins. 8 fuging years. Here we sit in control of our destiny. Things could be better. Things have been a whole lot worse.

I wonder how many people thought we'd have 2-3 wins this year at the beginning of the season and are now bitching because they aren't winning every game? The team is young. They are growing. We still have some holes to fill, but it's a decent team. They have the number of wins and loses they deserve

Maybe not you...but there were a lot on this board calling him a bust in his second season.
-
I think we were still win-drunk after the Green Bay win and thought we'd waltz all over the saints. The whole team looked off.

He has a down year after his rookie year and that seems to happen to a lot of players. If I recall Rhule had him playing out of place that year too. Was he the NT?

I keep bringing it up. A lot of people on this board were calling him a bust his second season. People on here are so quick to give up on a guy who is just getting used to the pro leagues. Brown's absence last year was the big reason the defense struggled. He impacts games.

Official Week 13: Rams @ Panthers Gameday Thread
parker replied to rodeo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I really didn't think we had a shot at this game with so many defenders out. But here we are. The crowd was as loud as they were in San Fran at times. This team is still inconsistent, but it has potential. -
Official Week 12: Panthers @ 49ers Gameday Thread

This is the NFL. No one stumbles into the playoffs. Once you get in, you are a playoff team. You can't win, if you don't get in. I laugh because the same people saying we would only win two to three games this year are upset we aren't leading the division. We are a decent team, not a good one yet. We are relatively young experience wise on offense and it shows In the inconsistency. -

We are not a team that could beat the 49ers. We are improving but we aren't that team. We aren't a team that can beat the Rams. But we are still .500 over halfway into the season. We do need to beat the bucs and the saints and we can do that -

I thought I saw an offsides once, but it didn't get called. -
Does Bryce deserve credit for game-winning drives?
parker replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
He does. If he takes the blame when people don't get open, they don't block and they drop passes that go through their hands, he gets the credit. The QB always gets the credit or the blame. -
At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability. But there is still a lot of football to play. I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.

It looks like the Saints came to play and we were still celebrating the GB win. -
OFFICIAL Panthers @Packers GameDay Thread

We just beat a good team in their house. They kept talking about how good Green Bay offense is and we only have up 13. -
I think the game plan was to get the ball out quick to help the online. It was also dictated by game. We were able to get better production from the run game so we were more focused on moving the chains and draining the clock than quick scores .

I'm not sure if it still stands. The Jets once held the best preseason record.

Evero?!?! Should he be on the Hot Seat
parker replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he gets this year to show what he can do. Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two. It's the first preseason game. Some of the starters weren't even in it. There is no scheming or game planning. Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense. Let it play out. -
The lone bright spot of the Matt Rhule era.

Will history repeat itself and Carolina make it to NFCCG this year?
parker replied to KSpan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Or it could be because we are building a pretty good team that is going to compete. But I expect us to win the division this year. -
It's not the pick that concerns me. I'd throw a 3rd at him immediately. But how does that impact our cap and the ability to sign our own players next year?
-
Agreed. Even if Bryce plays out and we have a chance to get a good rookie QB, you take it. It's too important a position to not have a good backup/future starter at because you have a starter. injuries happen, contract negotiations fall through, etc.

I think Tepper gets a bad rap. The team was going downhill before he bought it. He was a new owner and took his lumps, but I do feel like he's learned and has the team in the right direction. It seems that when things are bad it's Tepper's fault and when they start turning around it's someone else's credit. Morgan was a good hire and Canales was a good hire.

We were one dropped pass away from giving them an L.
