A pizza and a hot dog. We should not trade that many picks for one player. Teams win championships.

Reich’s description of a QB: It’s basically Corral
parker replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
I liked what I saw from Corral. I wasn't too worried about how he looked in preseason. But I wouldn't bet any money that he was going to be the starter. We need a vet and a rookie until we find out who is the guy. -
This is starting to get nasty with coach wilks.
parker replied to ncguy2184's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the last two games sealed it. With the playoffs on the line we couldnt beat a weak Tampa Bay team and looked like a bumblefug fest against the Saints. The main reason Wilkes looked like a good coach was because we had 2.5 years of Rhule. -
The answer wasn't positive.

I am really interested in Kellen Moore. I'd like to see how he handles the SF defense tonight.

You sign him and let him compete with Gonzalez during the summer. I like them both, but am concerned about Gonzalez's injury.

Wilks Set This Team Back
parker replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wilkes got paid to win football games, not plan the future of the Panthers beyond the time he was going to be here. -
Can Sam Darnold play himself into becoming the 2023 starter?
parker replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not sure that's the route either. -
Darnold played good enough to win, but had turnovers. I'm not sure the fumbles were solely his fault, but they were turnovers that helped lose the game. What was anyone really expecting from Norman?

parker replied to Verge's topic in Carolina Panthers
No. Darnold still has his issues. He was good enough to get us through the year. If we can upgrade the QB position, we need to do it. -
Then the posts would be, "why didn't we double team Godwin. We failed to adjust to stop him."
-
We had 3 turnovers that helped them two. The Darnold fumbles were critical as much as anything anyone else did.

I'm not going to say yes or no. It depends on who else is out there. I am not as hard on Wilkes as most people. He had little to no say in the roster and coordinators. He also started with a 1-5 record. He came in and made the Panthers competitive for the remainder of the year. Darnold looked somewhat decent for the first time in a long time. I said earlier in the week that Brady vs our defense without Horn scared me a bit. That and some critical turnovers cost us the game.

Car/TB showing different approaches this week
parker replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
It all comes down to the W. -
I want to be optimistic, but it is hard with Horn out and Brady as heir QB.

We try to win, but several sacks are negated by roughing the passer calls.
-
I think it determines who the coaches are. If Wilks and McAdoo are back, you keep Darnold or PJ, not both. If McAdoo is gone, you find someone who fits the new system.
-
Gotcha. I might have gotten the topics mixed up. I think a good coach has to be both.
-
The same number as the Patriots with a coach from a defensive background.

The Rams have a worse record than us this year. Just saying.

Wilkes is making a strong case, but there are still 4 games left to play. All I ask is that we beat the teams we should beat and are competitive against the better teams. If he goes 4-0 over the next four games, making him 8-4 on the season, I think he deserves a contract extension and an offseason. If he goes 2-2 then it's up for grabs. Their is no doubt the play is night and day difference post Rhule.

It's one game against a team that didn't know he was on the roster until 2 days before the game. Let's see how he does when the other team has time to prepare for him. Otherwise, it's the backup QB syndrome.

We got a bye week at a good time. If we can catch a little momentum, it could be a good season.
