The real silver lining is if Tepper realizes it’s his incompetent ownership that cost him all these QBs he’s wanted and it humbles him into letting actual NFL football people run the franchise and build long term instead of the asinine “rebuild while remaining competitive” which fails 99% of the time

Funny enough this is quite an incompetent move from a usually shrewd Saints team. What's the upside? You aren't competing for a championship this year, not with the lengthy suspension Watson is going to receive putting you out of playoff positioning before he comes back, especially since Brady has returned. Then you start losing players the next two or three seasons with no means to replace them

If that's true, which I doubt, it's even more pathetic than I thought Tepper could get. A guy like Brady, Rodgers, champions with years of success and service to their franchises and good moral character, those guys getting a say I understand. But handing the keys over to Watson to make personnel decisions? Why don't we just let him run our drafts? Or come up with the gameplans? Or make roster decisions? Embarrassing.

Ultimately, the reaction to the Saints coming in last minute to steal your girl, or at least that's how the pro-Watson fans perceive it, is just lashing out because they haven't quite come to grips with the fact that we're now one of the worst run franchises in the NFL, with a terrible owner and even worse coaching staff. And that no star wants to be part of, naturally. It sucks, and it's hard to cope with, especially for some fans who couldn't even cope with us merely being a mediocre franchise from 1995-2019. But it's true, and that's why we've been bad, will be bad this year, and because of bad moves by the previously mentioned bad owner and coach, will probably be bad for the next few years as well. Five stages of grief, might as well just enter acceptance. Only then will they recognize that Watson to the Saints or wherever isn't the coup they so think it is, and that we'll actually have the last laugh.

So if we are “lucky” enough to get him it means we’ll be giving up even more than the massive overpay this was already? I believe it, that someone as rash and impulsive as Tepper would promise a draft day deal of 4 1sts, or 3 1sts, 2 2nds, and players. Saints front office must be having the time of their life knowing they win either way

Anyone familiar with college football recruiting message boards is aware of the phenomenon of fake insiders, they sound exactly like this with cryptic, wish washy posts that don’t put them on the hook when they’re wrong, but enjoy having a gaggle of posters hang at their every word. Some of them even have genuine connections, and maybe even believe what they’re posting, only for it to later come out they read waaaaaay too much into whatever tidbit they gleaned from their access.

we couldn't even outbid the Aints if we wanted to because all Watson has to do is to say he'd rather go to the well run organization with better players than the dumpster fire we are, and suddenly the Texans are forced to take whatever Loomis throws out there. Stop flattering yourselves with fake insiders telling you what you want to hear and just use objective reasoning to see what's actually happening
