It took the Patriots 30 years to become good
MVPccaffrey replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's about ownership. Kraft bought the Patriots in '94, and they were in the big game in two years. Back again and winning it within 7. Tepper is going into what, year three? He's behind schedule -
What is with this owner's obsession with bringing in these NFC North losers? Teddy was a loser in Minny as a starter, and he's a loser here. Stafford is a closer with the Lions, manages to snatch defeat from jaws of victory and miss the playoffs, and would be an overpaid loser here. Make Watson happen no matter the cost. There is no alternative

I see him wearing a WFT uniform quite soon

Fewer teams in the 70s, less history to compete with. Not circumstances that help Luke’s case and citing a 43 year old event kind of says it all. Patrick Willis not getting in is a much better comparison given their career lengths match

Not a lot of guys who hung up the cleats at age 28 in the hall. In fact are there any? Won’t make it on first ballot, and after that he’ll be blocked by all these old QBs retiring

Man oh man just another HOF class is always yet the reminder that this franchise has existed for over a quarter century and has yet to have a player drafted here who’s been enshrined. Peppers will end that ignominious streak in a couple of years but still. Just him and maybe Smitty one day, but that’s it. Given 6 to 8 get in a year a team should average around two a decade just by the numbers. Actually makes the fact we have two Super Bowl appearances impressive. and no, Luke will not get in, having retired after only 8 seasons.

BAHAHAHAH - Marty interviewing with Washington Football Team
MVPccaffrey replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
wow Snyder really is letting Ron have full franchise control. Even in Carolina he was never this powerful -
These QBs have huge egos too, he's not going to think he can't win here. We have several advantages: Geography, a possible reluctance of Texans to trade Watson to AFC, and an owner who after some poo seasons since he bought the team who might be fed up with listening to "football people". Oh and a big hunk of crap currently starting who has made it abundantly clear he can't win games. We just have to hope Miami isn't as desperate and willing to part with as many picks as us
-
The mentality that you and GMs have of keeping a flame for pro-bowl but no all-pro talent that with teddy two yards has no chance of ever elevating a team above 9-7 at best while the the best QB to hit the market in his prime in possibly three decades is out there, is why there are so many middling, loser teams out there, Panthers included.

it's DeShaun WATSON my man. The gap between the most valuable thing in football, which is an all-pro like DeShaun, and the second most valuable thing which is pass rushing, even though I would say it's left tackle, is so enormous it doesn't matter. I don't care if we had Lawrence Taylor, you move whoever to get DeShaun
-
I don't care if this ends up looking like the Herschel Walker or James Harden trades. Just get it done. I don't care which players or picks go in, CMC/Burns/Chinn whoever, get it done. A 25 year old all-pro HOF track QB goes on the trade market once a decade at most, and more likely once a generation.

You've been outed, tarheels. Either a Shithawks, Taints, or Succs fan. If you're the first one, good luck after losing your defensive core in free agency this year, and if you're one of the pathetic last two teams living in the past, good luck being under our thumb in the division for quite some time in the future.

Broncos have a lot of experience getting their doors blown off in the Superbowl by superior NFC teams, that's for damn sure
