  1. Florida is 12th on that list, for anyone who doesn't want to click it. So I'm personally going to choose to not group their talent in with 2010 Auburn. So yeah going 6-7 with the 12th best recruits around per your own point doesn't seem all that impressive, when, yes, in fact, Stroud and Young were elevating, or at the very least, winning 20+ games
  2. 21-4 24-3 6-7 i'm not all about caring that much about QB W-L records, but as a pretty objective just Panthers fan rooting for the Panthers to select the right dude at QB1, one of these things is not like the other. This is to mostly ignore that asking 'what has (a heisman winner) won?" being an objectively ridiculous question. Comparing the 3 players performances against UGA is also a fair (something all of them have done) indicator to me, if we're also going to ignore consensus mock drafts/experts/majority of the huddle/literally everyone having a 1-2 of either Stroud/Young or Young/Stroud for argument's sake here. There may not be a lot of QB consensus among our fanbase, but I personally don't think we're flipping a coin that starts with "there's a possibility here that in the future, AR15 could be as good as Young or Stroud!"
  3. Agree with this--Cam had a lot of in the pocket and accuracy questions from pundits, but what people couldn't argue with was the fact that he came in and destroyed the SEC by himself in 1 year. Richardson did not. The fact that he didn't elevate a UF team that leaves plenty to be desired I think validates some of the questions about the raw aspect to his talent, and for me, it plays similar to Trey Lance coming out where the raw intangibles and talent were very attractive but that it's unrealized to this point makes your point about him being a great value at 9, but too much of a gamble after trading up to 1.
  4. Rangers are @BUF tomorrow night, so them beating NJD and then losing the back to back would be perfect scenario for us. NJD has Chicago next, so better for them to lose before they get basically a gimme.
  5. that's still objectively better for us winning the metro. Rangers being within 3 points with a game in hand is better than the Devils being within 1 (given we lost). We have ROW tiebreaker on NYR, but not currently on NJD. Us getting to 105 points and the Devs/Rangers both being at 100 would be better than us at 105 and NJD at 102. 2 teams at 5 points back with 7 to go for them and 8 for us, I like those odds.
  6. gotta take advantage of scheduling here. NYR/NJD play each other. need two points here and for the Rags to win in regulation. Would be a huge night.
  7. the best part of being a Panther fan right now is that I literally don't have to care what happens in the news realm of 'how does Sam Darnold play this season'
  8. Burns is more consistent on both ends. Dougie disappeared so hard randomly, especially when the playoffs came. and woo boy they paid him
  9. Fine with either. The nitpicking has become exhausting. Ready for this draft to get here, get our guy, and move forward and Keep Pounding.
  10. Guy is still really young. People (read: mad Habs fans) wanted to bury KK before he could buy a beer and although he's been inconsistent he has also shown the ability to take over games. This stuff can take time, especially when their confidence takes a hit in these markets where it's as if they're playing for the Yankees and held to impossible standards. I think he fits in well to our system, and his youth means it would make sense for him to get a prove it deal with us to take over a roster spot voided by someone like Stepan. He just needs to get a streak going. Hell, a lucky bounce for a goal in round one and he could all of the sudden be the Foegele/McGinn/Max Domi spark that you knew you needed but didn't know they'd be the one carrying it out
  11. we've played Tampa so well this year they ought to be raging mad at another opportunity cause we made them look like aged trash in the last game and they were trying to bait fights. expect a chippy one. let's close it out.
  12. we've ran into the rangers several times, and they made the ECF last year, whereas the devils weren't there. for us as a 5x year playoff team that finally add experience to our resume, the pick your opponent option is likely always going to be the team that is new blood/hasn't been there before. while you're not wrong about Vitek/goaltending getting hot--while that's possible for anyone, it's been the thing that has kept Carolina from advancing, and it's not the random names. It's stacking what has been league average goaltending (and specifically Freddie's injury last season at a bad time) up against Vezina candidates/Shesterkins/Tukka Rasks of the world. a young team with Vitek / some inconsistency behind him is more attractive than facing NYR again. it's not personal. NHL East fans have clamored for us in the playoffs to their peril too so it's just bulletin board material for NYD but at the end of the day, the prospect of playing one of the worst two playoff teams while you and NYR beat up on each other is the obvious best case
  13. Swiderski scored for Poland today. Crazy what a forward playing as a forward can do. Wish we would play our talent at their natural positions and stop overthinking it
  14. give it time. the devils have been struggling too. adjusting to the injury itself takes time, both from figuring out line combinations to getting over it mentally in the locker room. we're going to see this team's guts sooner rather than later, and I feel like what we saw in Philly leaves plenty of room for optimism.
  15. This weekend will be a good test and an indicator of what we can expect without Svech. Tonite could show whether or not our ceiling can still be a finals trip.

  17. So here's what I love. We get every team's best shot. And in this league, the team's may not be great or all have successful seasons, but no matter the circumstances, we're getting everyone's best effort. Saints are the prime example...they played out of their minds. With that said, I'm not really sure why we're not getting credit for the fact that when we get a team like Atlanta's absolute, do or die best possible shot, we CRUSHED them. Giants. Remember when Atlanta beat you at home? We played them too. Remember when your defense couldn't hold up against the Saints? Do you remember getting smashed by Philly and beat by the Redskins? We got those teams' best shot, too. Idk why you don't consider that when you're talking about how we've beat no one and don't belong at 13-0. What is this mystery team out there that we need to beat by 30 to prove ourselves? You? See you Sunday.
