while I mostly agree, that's why his post was so ridiculous and immature. We traded up to draft him 365 days ago--for him to act like he's instantly not appreciated for something he should have known we were doing the second we traded up for first overall, just seems like entitled trash. I'm not sure where he thinks he's going in this league where he's going to have some starter's shot that we're not giving him, but GMs that would be trading for him now have that post to question his inability to deal with any remote competition to point at. It was just an extremely emotional / reactionary thing to do and he had a literal month to sit on the fact that he would be on the outside looking in inside our and therefore every QB room in the league

Was Waddell playing 4-D chess this whole time?
backINblack28 replied to PleaseCutStewart's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
not giving up future assets is a W. It would still be nice to have some help right now especially considering our injuries. Next year should be our all-in year no matter what. We're on house money and gaining experience -
per Ian Rapoport on twitter, they have agreed to terms on a new long term deal..details to follow. Talks progressed after the Hurts deal. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/36305705/sources-lamar-jackson-ravens-progressing-extension-talks

Canes Vs Islanders Game 6 Friday
backINblack28 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
I thought Fred should have always started the road games. If now is the first time he's healthy, go for it. The goaltending position was mostly irrelevant in Game 5 as only two giveaway/not clear zone mistakes and a fluky bounce led to goals. Let's hope our game makes our starting goalie irrelevant here. If you can't bet on several goalies in round 1 against your easiest opponent--there will never be an easier chance to rotate/get Raanta rest. -
Tom Pelissero exclusive: Panthers drafting Bryce Young
backINblack28 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
right, but that's something that will happen plenty time after Bryce jerseys will have been on sale for a while. they will go on sale in some form or another (probably placeholder showing #1 for overall draft pick) right as the pick is announced -
I am completely counting on it. The frustrating part isn't hearing that from the media/opposing fanbases. The frustrating part is people with Panthers logos on their gear not standing up for the guy with the bloody nose everyone outside wants to fail. For our own fans to be joining the criticisms of those outside/against us before we even draft the kid is that 'i cannot have a positive outlook about fandom' that i just can't get down with. If you're standing on the same side of the table as saints/falcons fans pointing at panthers fans with hope, i feel like you need to step outside yourself and look in the mirror just a time or two. FWIW, up until the Vegas odds changed around our pick, I wanted Stroud. But that wasn't at the expense of Bryce Young's skills, and I'm a Panthers fan who trusts our staff and likes 3 of the 4 QBs in the draft (Levis seems like a ripe prick to me tbh)

Burrow is the one here that is why this is infuriating as a rhetorical situation. He got killed by his OL. Then he returned and made it to the super bowl. If Bryce tears the same ACL that Burrow did--tons of our own fans will rush here with 'I told you so's about size/our own QB getting an injury that one of our own best players ever recovered from 3 separate straight times and I will be ready to fight morons in the street

trading up for #1 is a big gamble. But we're doing it to circumvent not having the same QB problems since the @ Pitt game in 2018. We're doing it to get the literal consensus best player AND QB in the draft. The gamble being all about size to some when we have literally any examples in sports to show us that size can be overcome is just tired and if people want to be negative about us finally solving our biggest problem/the biggest issue in not running our division, it just comes off desperate to cling to negativity--which for me just straight up isn't why I watch football. Having some hesitation is fine. Yes, we took a big gamble. Thank everything under the moon and stars we finally had the nuts to do it. That some people are screaming negativity into the abyss that we finally did what was necessary to fix the biggest problem NFL teams face is their prerogative but at this point, especially on this day, it also screams "I celebrate/am positive about literally nothing" which is at least in my personal opinion, the most outright garbage sports fan to interact with and it's not remotely close. Have some fun or go sit in a corner by yourself and pout. But scratching, kicking and clawing to get the rest of us to share in taking a dump on the party is not gonna work. I'm as excited as I've been in the near 30 years we've fielded a team--as are tons of the rest of us. Because it's why we're all here. The prospect of being in the same boat as other NFC South teams fans/other NFL teams fans trying to scream "i told you so" to us about and or rooting for Bryce to fail is like downright vomit worthy to me. But I'm a PSL holder who grew up as a small dude in that stadium with a chip on my shoulder yelling at all the fans that thought they could come in and take over our stadium. So from that perspective, anyone who claims to be a Panther fan that's gonna be yelling along with fans of other teams negative sh about the guy we've chosen to lead us---keep crying. Join them if you want. The rest of us we'll inevitably do what we're here to do. Have hope and Keep Pounding.

I'm sure they likely will 1. have it announced as they go on sale OR 2. have the jersey not show a number and say that it will be shipped with the number he chooses after one is picked--cause for right now Corral is still #9 -
Canes vs Islanders game 5 7pm
backINblack28 replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
for sure. he looked tired and just not all there. but for me--to have our top D pairing play kinda trashy, AND be without three of our top 6 to not even count Drury---I feel like we were a bounce away. We're gonna go give them a handshake line in their own building. I'm okay with slaying those road demons in this series. If literally nothing else, this playoffs slaying road demons is enough to take away from this playoffs along with the division banner to make a true 100% run at it next year with Svech/Patches and to step on the gas at trade deadline/do something big time at goalie -

I did think Slavin/Burns were off. However, we carried play for a long stretch, and their first two goals were absolute flukes. And with the one we had that was disallowed/the bounce off Aho and the bounce off the boards to give them a breakaway/Staal not burying his early one--i just feel like a bounce here or there it would have been a different game. I think we'll close it out Friday. -

The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
backINblack28 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Russ and Young have the literal exact same combine weight. 204. There is a whole entire athletic article where Fitterer talks both about that and about Bryce putting on weight thru training and diet / naturally after draft, just as Russ did. Far be it from me to keep you from ignoring these facts just to beat a dead horse over and over and then say 'if i'm wrong no one can say so for 5 years' as if literally any athlete getting injured playing a sport is some Nostradamus prediction. Can't argue with that type of bias. You seem like you want to be butthurt about the pick. I'm excited af and ready for him to prove the doubters wrong. I just wish it wasn't so many of our fans. Already went thru that with Cam. Sorry you won't have any fun like the rest of us -

backINblack28 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
but if 300lb DTs do it because they're banged up--it's fine too and something you just won't chalk up to size. I get the bias. It's objectively asinine. -

Here is part of one team’s pre-draft scouting report, furnished by a former NBA head coach, that listed Stephen Curry’s perceived weaknesses: Not a true point guard. Out of control at times. Shot-selection. Stuck between 1 and 2. Ability to defend position at next level? Lateral quickness. Versatility to defend multiple positions. Limited upside? Backup/Fringe Starter? College system makes him difficult to evaluate. Average athleticism. Average size. Average wingspan. Frail frame. Relies too heavily on outside shot. it's weird to me how many people are out here begging to be quoted like this in 9 months. I expected it from NFC South fans outside Carolina. But the in house fighting is asinine. And the amount of receipts I'm saving before he even gets picked woo boy.
