  1. I wonder if it's just slowed as the front offices dig into the draft prospects and really start considering whether they would be better if with a draftee or with a free agent/trade prospect. Also, if the Watson situation is resolved one way or the other, we'll also probably see more movement in other directions for any team losing out on that. Watson's the lead domino and teams are just waiting for it to fall.
  2. They also plan to open name suggestions up to public, so I'm personally hoping for the Washington Boaty McBoatFaces in 2022.
  3. Also, you can't be forced if you have have appeared on Hard Knocks in the past 10 years, but that obviously doesn't apply to us. I feel like it's been a while since we've been in the "could be forced" category.
  4. The teams listed are actually who can be forced to do it without consent, with Dan ranking them by entertainment value. At the bottom, he predicts the Jags will be picked because they've publicly said they want to do it.
  5. I still think talk of trading CMC is ignoring the dead money cap hit that comes with it. I'm not so sure CMC will be on the trading block this year. However, we've seen other teams swallow a huge dead money hit, so I guess it's still possible. I suspect that as weird as this year has been, we'll see some mind blowing things this offseason in the NFL.
  6. My worry about this is that both of these teams, but especially the Jets, have extensive experience in knowing that a top QB draftee may not work out in the NFL. I think it's possible they could say "F it, we have no idea if Fields or Wilson will work out in the NFL, but we know Watson will, so let's just spend some of our picks on Watson. Instead of taking the unknown." I've seen a lot of talk from national media about what a crapshoot this draft is going to be because the normal draft activities couldn't be done and the college season was messed up. You may see teams prefer to go after veterans in trades and free agency (with the obvious caveat that the lower cap may limit free agency deals as well) than relying on the draft this year.
  7. I'm really confused by his choice of words. What, exactly, was the team intimidated by? I'm not taking offense or being annoyed, I seriously don't know what he's getting at.
  8. Neither one has really "said" anything so I was probably a bit sloppy in my response. The PR coming from the Wilson camp seems more about getting him more power within the organization whereas the PR coming from Watson's camp seems more genuinely about getting out of Houston.
  9. I think because Watson sounds much more definitive about being done than Wilson does.
  10. This is purely, 100% emotional, but I genuinely find Wilson repulsive on a personal level and don’t want him on the Panthers.
  11. I say this as someone who wants to see the Panthers land Watson... The thought of Tepper directing Fitts and Rhule and telling them which players to get makes me very uncomfortable.
  12. My favorite part of the class move is how JJ did a video saying he wanted the fans to hear it from him first, and Texans leaked it to Rapsheet who tweeted it before the video game out.
  13. All of my thoughts about what the Texans would do -- whether trading him or not and to where -- was based on an assumption that the Texans would act with rationality and logic. However, seeing what they've done this off-season, I can no longer assume that. So I no longer have any idea what will happen and have no opinion.
  14. I loved listening to Wesseling on the Around the NFL podcast. I didn't always agree with him, but his opinions were always well thought out. He was fun to interact with on social media. He successfully beat cancer once, several years back and when they announced it had come back, I feared this would be the outcome. He got married a couple of years ago and they had a baby in 2020. It's really sad what he's leaving behind. He was a great guy.
  15. I think he's borderline. I'd be surprised at first ballot. I would not be surprised if he doesn't make it at all (although I'd be salty about it). However, I think it helps that he went into media and is keeping his name and "legend" relevant. So, I think it's more likely than not that he makes it.
  16. Not interested in getting into debate, but of course NFL teams and players leak things, true or not, to media insiders to try to make certain things happen. It's the "believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see" season.
  17. I think that's spot on. There was another report this morning that they're disappointed in the offers they are getting. I think they're leaking, trying to get the interested teams to up their offers. They want Stafford pricing for Goff product.
  18. Blaine Gabbert will have as many rings as Rodgers and Brees
