  1. He is not a superstar anymore (if he ever was is a matter of opinion), BUT he is constantly open and catches anything that gets near him!! Definitely still above average even at his age. My only complaint was with the term "washed up". Who the Hell knows what we are getting with Renfrow at this point, and Moore is a career-long average guy who admittedly played pretty danged good down the stretch last year. All 3 of these guys will be 30 this year, and only AT has put up good numbers in recent years. The other 2 are bubble guys IMO.
  2. Making him DTR would keep him safe from PS poachers for the first part of the season, right? That makes our WR corps: AT, XL, JC, TMac, (locks) and Renfrow & Moore (probably) and open George and Hudson for competition for a potential WR6/WR7 spot.
  3. Dowdle was a good pickup, and is trying to earn a big contract so he'll play with a chip on his shoulder for sure. I'm also quite excited about Etienne. He presents a passing option that neither Dowdle or Hubbard have.
  4. Exactly... But his numbers seemed low to me initially. Then I remembered that half of his production were receptions.
  5. TBF, if Bryce wins MVP, Cannalles probably deserves it!
  6. CMC also had 3,292 receiving yards and 18 receiving TD's for us (per ESPN). I didn't see his YAC, but there were a poo ton of them which is also part of why his totals seemed light to me.
  7. If J-Lo is involved, I'm definitely down to Keep Pounding!
  8. TJ Watt put the final nail in the coffin while Cam was in the pocket, not running. It's easier to protect yourself if you know the hit is coming. I will always wonder how many Lombardis we would have now if we had given Cam some actual talent on offense.
  9. And ... if we weren't taking the full hit on Motonthis season instead of extending him again, Our money and KC's would be about the same. Moton is off the books next year (other than some chump change void money) just in time for Ickey's 5th year option, $17.6 ish, to hit. Assuming we don't extend Ickey before then. Also... depending on how his knee health plays out this season, I wouldn't mind finding a creative way to keep Moton around. He's been a frikin stud his whole career.
  10. Richardson looked pretty last year, especially as a UDFA, and I like Ransom's potential. BUT, I would love to bring in a Safety with a little more experience. Either Blackmon or Williams would be a great get and allow our youngsters time to mature.
  11. Good read overall, I like the author's spin on things and it is a nice overall recap going into preseason (I was out of the country and didn't follow other teams, drafts). My favorite Falcons quote from the article (after trading 2026 1st round pick for Pearce): "The Falcons might also struggle even with Pearce on the roster, which could end up with them sending a top-10 pick to the Rams next year, making the price even more dramatic. The Falcons will have needs next year, and the year after that, and the year after that. Compounding future draft capital to get one guy right now is a risky bet that doesn't pay off as often as teams would like. The logic of "If it works, who cares?" sounds great, but it isn't a smart use of resources. Nobody cares if you spent your paycheck on lottery tickets if you win the lottery, but that doesn't mean it's the correct way for you to use what you have. There are scenarios in which making that sort of plunge makes sense -- going after a potential franchise quarterback or using a small amount of capital to move up a few spots within a round -- but this seems more desperate than calculated." Fontenot is mortgaging the team's future to save his job today! That's just bad football.
  12. Haven't seen the Canes yet, but I used to go to the Ice Caps minor league games in college. I'm pretty sure my 20 year old redneck self sounded just like that at my first game! XL is becoming a social media phenom! When can we we schedule him an interview with Randy Moss?
  13. It's simple... If they compliment us we love them, if they fail to rave about our awesomeness, we hate them!
  14. No risk! Doesn't count towards the Cap and you never know who's the next Coker. Or Thielen!
  15. Give the devil his due! He also appears (at least) to be letting the staff do their job. DMo. in 1 of his interviews. even balked at the idea that Tepper was a meddler. Once you have that reputation, it's hard to be rid of it, but I hope Tep has learned his lesson.
  16. I have center 1 as one of my pre-season battles to watch. Corbett is not guaranteed the job. It's a lot more relevant than WR6 or secondary depth (I still think that we're not done here. I expect a S and CB to be added before week 1).
  17. I think he vast majority of us fans are very excited about Bryce's play down the stretch. I also think that the biggest question, based on the small sample size, is whether he can replicate it or, better yet, continue his upward trajectory. I sure as hell hope so, and honestly, believe he will. If so, sky's the limit for this young man!
  18. "Purdy may be a product of the system and surrounding talent, but he’s still led one of the NFL’s most efficient offenses over the past three seasons." Kinda hard to argue with this justification, even though I would NEVER pick him over Bryce.
  19. That just means that we're due, right!!! right???
