We very likely still have DJ Moore in that scenario as well. That being said, I still think that we made the right decision by stirring everything up, even if it means we take a step back immediately. Wilkes, AR, Foreman seemed like a safer, same old same old, train of thought to me.

AR looked good out there.

I would not hate that at all. Guy runs mean.

I don't think the article was that far off base, other than a mysterious "source" that he quotes. Bottom line is that his pass blocking (when left on an island) was questionable going back to his State days. We gave him a lot of help last year on passing plays. As long as he improves, I'm good with him at LT. "The Panthers got him help with a tight end or extra lineman on 35% of his pass blocks with three or more wide receivers on the field in Weeks 1-9, according to ESPN Analytics/NFL Next Gen Stats. That dropped to 27% the second half of the season when Carolina went to more jumbo sets featuring an extra lineman."

Other teams actually wanted to hire them!

And then he still published it, @$$hole!

Yeah, I think I misunderstood the "protected player" caveat for PS. He could still technically get poached, it just makes it harder to do so. " Teams can designate four players every week that are protected from being signed by other teams. This protection starts on Tuesday each week, so every practice squad player is still available to be signed to the regular roster of another team after their team’s game that week until the deadline on Tuesday."
-
Stash him on the PS as a protected player unless Young gets hurt. It's unlikely (not impossible) that you need 3 qb's in 1 game.

Lost 7 on Offense?? Freeman, DJ, Darnold (good riddance). Are we counting Chosen, CMC, Mayfield, PJ? BTW, i 100% agree with your assessment that we can rebuild and try to win at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive.

In my defense...I still think we have a legit shot at winning the NFCS, thus being a "playoff team". Not because we're a great or even complete team yet, but because none of the teams are. We'll get a real look at that possibility starting in 2 weeks. In other news, I agree that Chark has looked like our best receiver all of camp and preseason. I hope it's nothing major or lingering. And Icky looked really good LAST YEAR. But 1 good year doesn't make you a franchise LT. I'm still bullish on him BTW.

Atta boy Smitty! Coach him up! Side thought...Could you imagine Smitty at 6'2" and 220 lbs? The NFL would have needed a rule to protect hitting defenseless CB's!

or ...Discuss.

Get 1 more game out of him against scrubs...cut him Monday.
-
We need him to get right, and the sooner the better! The fact that there is so much competition for his backup means that no one looks like a starter yet.
-
He was wrong about at least 1 of these.

Okay so the only player from last week that performed well enough to go out for the kickoff was to punter! That sums up the game against the Jets in a nutshell.

Hot damn! I thought I had seen earlier that this was only on the nfl network and I'd have to go to a bar to watch. Nothing against bars for music or raisin hell, but I prefer football on my couch! Plus the beers are cheaper and I'm guaranteed to get lucky with the waitress as long as I did laundry and vacuumed this afternoon!

Doesn't it feel downright wrong to be talking about the AFC East and be completely disregarding the pats?? they completely dominated that pansy-ass conference for so long.
-
I wouldn't make the favorites over those 2 either, BUT they are certainly in the running. If they did make it to the SB, I wouldn't be surprised.
-
I would argue that they absolutely edit to make the Jets look good. The panthers looking bad is just a byproduct. Full disclosure, I didn't watch the game or this episode of hard knocks. Also, from the highlights (if you can call them that) of the game I saw, we didn't need much help looking bad Saturday.
-
He's right though. Can we play that speech in OUR o-line room? They need to hear it.
-
Hard knocks is doing everything in it's power to portray AR as NOT the whackjob asshole a lot of people thinks he is. Whether he is or not, dude can still play with the best of them. Jets are going to be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Been waiting for this... BY on QB School
shaqattaq replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Right, no other way we go from bullying them in 11 vs 11 in practice to being embarrassed a few days later. O line has shown that they can be solid all of last year (except RG, but that wasn't the only position getting taken to the wood shed). We'll be OK when it counts.
