I love that he's an old school, no BS kind of guy. I saw this video of him mic'd up at the Senior bowl a while back, and had to post it here. Best quote in a while "This is a man's game, play it like one". https://www.panthers.com/video/phil-snow-mic-d-up-at-the-senior-bowl

Heading into OTAs today - whatcha interested in?
shaqattaq replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm still curious if they play him at FS. He was a damned good OLB last year and looks like a more natural fit at SS, but I wonder if there is anything he can't do. -

I assume that we'll see a lot of rotation across the line this early, but it would still be good to know how Christensen is doing at LT vs LG. I really want him to definitively claim the LT role early. -
Which Positions Have The Panthers Improved Most This Off Season
shaqattaq replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
DT for sure, Jones, Fox and Nixon all should feast next to Brown soaking up double teams. Hell, Roy was a very pleasant surprise last season, I'm excited to see if he improves much with a real off season . Kerr and Obada were decent last year, but I really think that all 3 of the guys above will prove better. As for the left side of the line... we lost Okung, but did we really? He WAS good for the few games he was healthy. But we gained Erving and Christensen at LT and re-signed Scott, who was also a pleasant surprise last year. At LG, we brought in Erving, Elfein, Brown, and Moore. Plus, if Christensen can't cut it at LT, and I really think he will, he'll likely be one of the best LG's in the draft. So, yeah, a lot of improvement in both areas. -
If I only get to pick 1, I'm going ATL, mainly because they're so close. Ironically, I've never considered TB a rival, really, because, well they suck. Looks like they showed me! This year, I'd say they're who I want to beat the most, because that would likely mean that we win the division. BTW, fug the Taints too.

FWIW, a lot of main stream writers are full of poo! EDIT: That being said, I like the look of Spotrac better. No idea about accuracy.

At least he's "learning from his mistakes". Kinda like when he was about to get his ass fired for being too conservative so he invented an alter ego.

I doubt either really has to worry much about losing their starting spot. No reason to rush it.

can't wait to see that video. I've never seen Moss used as a verb. I think shi makes the 53 based not only on his return ability, but as a capable sloy receiver.

Would've been nice if you knocked off the pity party you've thrown for yourself, Mr. Oh-Woe-Is-Me.

Sweet Caroline - why change what works?

But why?? It's so good so good so good! -
I was wondering if Bouye got to take part in off season while finishing out his suspension. Glad to see him in the mix with all the youngsters on our CB roster.

What we need to see from Sammy D in OTAs
shaqattaq replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, Myles Garrett was a beast, but I bet they would do it differently if they could re-pick. At least they didn't screw up as bad as the bears with Trubinsky. Just please try to refrain from likening us to the frikken Browns in the future. -
I sure hope so. I about lost my poo when they passed on Radunz for him after trading back twice. Watching the tape on Marshall though, it's hard not to get excited. I can visualize the hissy fit Joe Brady was having while Fitterer and Rhule were deciding whether to draft him or not; like a 4 year old in a toy store.

RB/FB Roster Projections-Who Stays? Who Goes?
shaqattaq replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed, plus Davis was running like a mad man. Why risk reinjuring the $64M man when the $3M guy is getting it done? -
That's a lot of man slamming into each other.

High: Reddick and Arnold. these are both terrific FA signings this year that I expect to feast because of the talent surrounding them. I would be surprised if both didn't put up record years. Not sure: Christensen. I think he'll be an excellent player, but not sure if that'll be at guard or tackle. I really hope it's LT. I toyed with Marshall here because of his injury history. Low: Greg GD it Little. I know your rules said to only look back 1-2 years, but this guy kills me, so I went back 3. Cut his ass already.

I think this will be just for you. I actually think a lot of people will think like this. If Fields is good, and Darnold is bad, It's going to be hard not to think "we could have had that guy". If Horn becomes a true, lock down corner, it'll definitely lessen the pain. i happen to think that horn will be a shut down corner AND Darnold will be significantly better that he was in NY. Like the article says, "Considering the talent around Darnold, he doesn’t even have to be that great." -
Maybe they wanted to see if they could BS the Jets into picking Jones and they had Wilson above Lance on their board. Hard to imagine, BUT the jets are frikkin stupid.

Analyzing the 10 OL who should make the roster
shaqattaq replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is the 1 point I was going to make about your day 1 line-up. I think it's most likely that Christensen starts somewhere. LT is his to loose, but if he can't beat out Scott/Erving, put him in at LG and let him get used to sitting at the grown up table. Eery snap he takes against NFL caliber players will help him. I really hope he turns into a better than average LT, especially since he, Brown, Moore, Erving, Elfein, & Daley are all vying for LG. I left Miller off this list as I think he wins the RG position initially. -
Bootleg Football’s take on Panthers draft
shaqattaq replied to Black&BlueBubba's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great listen. I don't know much about Chuba, but in his draft profile, pass protection was listed as a weakness. If he really can block as well as EJ claims, I'm even more excited about the pick.
