The Cowboys offensive line committed zero penalties
shaqattaq replied to Eazy-E's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed! I'm not even saying that we didn't get away with a few or that we 100% would have beaten them if some of those calls had been made. BUT, it was obvious that there was officiating bias towards Dallas. I Mean Jeez, if there's a fumble, call it a fumble. They have to be reviewed anyway. The play before, when the ball was punched out, was reviewed, and not a fumble. Chinn clobbered that guy though. should have given us the ball. -
A Breakdown of the O-Line play from Sunday
shaqattaq replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
chalk it up to "poo happens". Slater is playing great , and was who I had in my mock draft, FWIW :), but Horn was a beast until he got hurt. I'm not hating the pick. -
Meanwhile, over at that other expansion team...
shaqattaq replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's the only member of the team that can score! -
2 things: Roy was taking a triple team on that 1 play to spring Fox. He's not bad for a back up. 2nd, rumor has it that If we hadn't drafted Brown we were looking at CJ. Now we have both!

No way in Hell. I'm sure the media will be full of excuses. -
Even if they can his ass after this year, he carries $40.5M in dead cap. haha

pretty sure @Jmac meant until the Panthers start beating better teams. that's how I read it. -
No Respect for the Panthers - What Cowboys Fans are Saying

This is why I think we beat them (other than pure Panther homerism). Our weakest link is BY FAR our o-line, and their D doesn't have the tools to exploit that. The taints and Houston have a better front 7. Also, our pass blocking is better than our run blocking, and, without CMC, we're going to be pass-happy. I think Brady dials up a game plan unlike anything we've seen, and Sam carves them up. Also, our D gonna make Dak wish he was still rehabbing. nuff said! -
Like we did with the Taints??

This is the Turning Point Game of the 2021 Season
shaqattaq replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know it's way early, but winning here could be a factor down the road if we split wins with TB. The refs gave Brady a win week 1, and I doubt we get that same courtesy in the Jerry dome. -

This was my thought about losing CMC. We have enough weapons in the passing game to plan around his yardage, but using him as a blocker / decoy will be harder to replace. Even with Ricci, Thomas, and/or Tremble in the backfield to pick up rushers, it's a drop off in ability. As a decoy, CMC has the same affect that Cam did for years. You have to have a spy assigned to him on every play, essentially taking a defensive player out of the game. -

Obviously CMC is generally the best player on the field, but I have to say, last week was our best 2nd half, IMO, of the season. Darnold really stepped up, as did several other offensive weapons. Our game plan will completely change, but we have plenty of options; and 10 days to get them ready. -
What does the Henderson trade mean for Donte and Jaycee?

We might activate him, but, Christensen should be next man up if Miller is out. He's been OK when called upon to fill in.

I still think Elflein was almost as much about having a Paradis backup as a LG. He also had chemistry with Darnold. Yeah, he still sucks, but I can at least follow the logic ... sort of. Also, Arnold was another hellova FA pickup. Which he has now rolled into another top 10 CB. -
I can always count on you to actually make a lick of sense!

Exactly. We re-signed Miller, extended Moton, drafted Brown and Christensen, and picked up Elflein and Erving (who has not been bad). Does this talent match what we've done on the defensive side of the ball? HELL NO! (other that Moton) But, we have not ignored it either. FA talent for linemen was dismal this year, so all we could have done was take Slater instead of Horn. I'm not sure that was a good idea AND we've been told by our coaches that we tried to trade back a little (conceivably to take Slater, who knows) and that we tried to trade for Henderson prior to the draft, which likely would have meant NOT picking Horn. Again, who really knows?

Or probably NOT if the good guys win!
-
Yeah, but they also should have beat the Bucs but the refs couldn't let Brady lose his season opener, so insert BS PI no-call.
-
Dak's scrambling worries me TBH. Lamb and Cooper are good WR's that don't stop on plays, and Dak can throw well from outside the pocket and has a cannon for an arm. I was really looking forward to seeing how Jaycee did against this . Pummeling Dak early and often will be key in this game.

David Newton's questions make a lot more sense now.

LOL, that is what I was trying to say without actually saying it

I love the detail on this video. What I like as much as Sam throwing dimes in that he consistently take the guy that's deeper instead of the under guy. Ian Thomas or the back is open for the check down on most of these passes and Sam finds the deep receiver. That wasn't always evident watching the game live.
