  1. I agree with that, but it doesn't make him a bust. He's still a decent starter. Not even mentioning the fact that I don't think you can call someone a bust after 2 years.
  2. You WOULD likely be able to drive a car through the hole Icky would create. We keep saying that we want to be a run first team...
  3. Who da fuq is that SOB wearing a saints shirt?!? Edit: Pretty sure he's Darius Bradwell, RB scrub we signed off the Chargers PS.
  4. $18M to be a 3rd string QB is good work if you can find it.
  5. I'm sure we would have been happy to consider Cousins for $5M.
  6. Play offs and pro bowl. Still vague, but according to CBS: The Panthers also created an incentives package that would give Mayfield a chance to earn back his $3.5 million pay cut. The incentives reportedly include making the postseason, winning a certain amount of games and statistics.
  7. I think our offense as a whole has been making small-but-significant steps to the good. Mayfield is better than Darnold (I like Coral a lot too, but will leave that to other threads), RB room is better, coaches are better, O-line is A LOT better. Tepper seems to be really invested in Rhule, and is giving him every opportunity to succeed. I just wish there wasn't so much on the job training.
  8. Zach Wilson's Ex is banging his best friend because he banged his mom's best friend; what's there not to get, lol? FWIW, I'd totally bang Zach's mom.
  9. Right on. I don't care if he and Sam are secret lovers, his favorite QB is Bridgewater because Teddy got him a bloated contract and Sam made him look average - which he is.
  10. So there's a good chance one of them drops to # 32 for us to draft!
  11. Smitty was / is an @$$hole, but as long as he was backing it up on the field, I'm his biggest fan. If Mayfield brings that type of production to Carolina, I'll be his biggest fan. Until then, he's just talking poo for poo's sake. EDIT: I like the attitude though.
  12. Probably not, but Mayfield's style of play / strengths are more in line with Corral's. I still have more hope for Corral long term than either of the QB's on our roster. I'm really hoping that Sam is holding a clipboard until someone gets desperate enough to trade for him.
  13. Interesting quote from this article that ties in with my thinking that Baker makes a better mentor for Corral than Sam: Millen adds that he believes Carolina can find success with Mayfield if they run a system that fits his skill set: “I would try to run as close to the system that Lincoln Riley had at Oklahoma as possible. Lots of RPOs and misdirection.”
  14. Good article, and hard to argue against. The gist of it being: 1) The baker trade, in a vacuum, was good for Carolina. We improved our QB situation on the cheap. Even though it was only a slight upgrade in their opinion. 2) Unfortunately, outside the vacuum, this is our 4th reclamation QB (counting Cam's $6M last year) in 3 seasons. We have no plan and are basically desperately flailing around. 3) Rhule is just trying to save his job. (see #2) MY view of the situation, while not disagreeing with any of this, is that Baker has the potential to be more than a little better than Darnold. Sam has never produced. I still see Corral as the future of this team, only now he has a better mentor to back up in his rookie season. I hope Darnold is off the team or 3rd stringer. And finally, just because we REALLY fugged up the Darnold deal and painted ourselves into a corner, at least we didn't double down on that screw up. We brought in a better vet for cheap and drafted a developmental QB who a lot of people had going in the 1st or top of the 2nd.
  15. At least I LIKE our FA's this year. Corbett, Bozeman, Foreman, Ioannidis, Hekker, and Woods are all solid signings.
