Mostly will be watching Quinn Ewers and LaNorris Sellers. Only care about QBs until I don't have to anymore.
-
5 picks, for bennett, ouch. Check that make it 4.
-
I don't know that it's them not calling then more so that Bryce not trying them.
-
It's looked like another 2 win season, better pray the college QBs are good prospects this season, cause it sure looks like we missed out the last 2 years on some killers.
-
I'm glad they are practicing so many red zone possessions, because we are gonna have to be dang near 100% on then since we might see the red zone 1 or 2 times every other game max.

There is just no threat deep to keep the defense on their toes. Wide receivers can't get open because the defense only has to work 20 yards of field. At this point it's apparent. Bryce connected on what, maybe one pass over 20 yards all of camp.

Sounding like another defense dominating practice. It's gonna be a rough year.
-
Pass by Plummer.
-
Again leading him out of bounds, needs to lead him forward.
-
Spencer Rattler and Jake Haenor looked pretty good. One of em is gonna be cut, bring 'em in Morgan.
-
Sounds like a slow practice, not a lot of updates.
-
Williams looking good. All of the rooks have looked good this week.

I think it's okay to admit that Bryce was shell shocked after a brutal season full of hits and it almost certainly hurt his confidence through out the whole season. Hopefully he will get past that this season and we will see what he was advertised to be. For now though, can we make it to a pre season game. I do want to point out that Kenny Pickett looked all world in preseason last year and he was arguable worse than Bryce all season. I wouldn't get to over confident about how players looks initially.

Another topic turned into a Bryce sucks thread. We get it, can we who have moved past this enjoy the other games?

Pinec looks like a stroud clone

True that. Plummer wasn't even good in those mini-camps that they signed him in. They just needed an extra arm. Hopefully they have some urgency to sign some other potential guy. I'll say this, the Pat's won't be keeping 4 QBs, so one of Zappe or Milton should be available and either of those 2 guys would be an immediate upgrade.

Who impressed & who needs to get his ass cut (Preseason week 1)
Jaxel replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, I can almost guarantee if Andy Dalton, the actual back up QB was out there, we would have looked a world different. Jack was that lost the whole game. -
Plummer was bad man. Yes, he took 5 sacks, but at least 3 of them happened because he held the ball forever and could have at least made through aways. You can't be too tough on him though, I mean he was an undrafted QB who really was very average in college too. His measurable's are awesome, but man, he's got a long way to go in just game sense and understanding the position. It will be interesting to compare him and Joe Milton (who I really wanted us to take in the late rounds) to Spencer Rattler (Who I also would have loved for us to take a flyer on) when he plays. All older players who dropped stock with rough final seasons in college.

My thought is that the defense looked really good overall. I mean it was the backup and the back up back ups for most the game - and they held tough on the Patriots starting line nicely. The only patriot score up till 4th Qtr came when the Pats started on the Panthers 30 yard line. And that was a great concentration catch by Bouette where the coverage was really tight. If that ball is any lower, it might have been a pick. So lockdown coverage and run defense. Was really impressed. Offense, man the two drops killed any Rhythm to start the game. Mingo's in particular was really bad. But the WR play was sloppy on both ends and I attribute a lot of that to that crazy downpour. I expect we'll see better WR play next week. On Offense, Jack Plummer really held the team back. He looked like an undrafted rookie from a middling team in college. He looked lost, held on to the ball forever, took a few just really bad sacks where he should have had the ball out. It was amazing when Luton, who has had 2 whole days to practice on the team, immediately looked more competent. I expect if Andy started that game, we would feel a lot differently. With all that said, I'm not to concerned after this game, if when they play a few more starters and more competent QB next week, we look the same, then I'll chalk it up as the lostest of lost seasons. -
Dropped passes, but it was heavy run in the first quarter. The bigger driver of suck was just how long Jack Plummer held on to the ball, missed reads, no mobility. He was rough, it was like a immediate difference when Luton came in.
-
He knows two plays and still has some how looked better than plummer.
-
4 first downs in 4 qtrs of football. Gonna be a rough season, don't even care if it was a undrafted nobody qb.
-
We are well on our way to our 8 sack per game average.
-
Solid defense against the first and second team of the Pats there.
-
All day to throw, you gotta let that ball go.
